WTH, picked up a blue piezo model. It's the one I've been wanting and was waiting for these to drop to/below $900. Guess we'll see how it is when it arrives

No mention of the case on the piezo one.... Not on their site or Reverb...

And from what I can tell the Wide Fat Neck is identically measured to the GIbson 59'. Chonky.

It definitely comes with a hard case. All of their hollowbodies do.

Well...typically I would agree. But I've seen plenty of guitar shops keep the cases on Open Box and Used instruments. So I try to make 100% so they don't have an out "well...it wasn't in the listing".

New ones come with a case according to Sweetwater, but now that you said this "used" thing... could be. I doubt PAS would do that... but if it ain't listed... they sure could if they wanted. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/...acock-blue

I haven't heard of Pro Audio Star pulling something like that.
The previous non-piezo ones that I bought didn't explicitly list it either, but came with it.
If they're open box they're customer returns and typically they wouldn't accept a customer return if it was missing part of what it was sold with. Or maybe they would with a 15% restocking fee or something. But specifically their return says if it's missing original packaging it will not be accepted for return.. I'd assume that includes case.
But yeah I'm making assumptions there on the return policy.

Do I swap my SG platinum for this?

I thought I'd enjoy it more than I do.

It's different than the silver sky. Both are SE models so both are of equivalent materials / craftsmanship.
It will sound different than a silver sky. Both because of body design, hollow vs solid, and the pickup types.
Neither is inherently "better".
The silver sky would be better for some types of music, and the hollowbody better for other types of music. Or the hollowbody will be better for one person, and the silver sky for a different person.
You'd have to be able to hold and play them personally to tell which would better fit you and your style.

This guitar has one hell of a mustache.

Edit: wait I thought the point of a hollowbody was to make it lighter, but that chonker weighs 10lbs?!
