I bought a 5th Gen Ipad Air after they first came out a year ago, and it's been fine, but not having FaceID has been much more annoying than I anticipated. Just FYI if you were assuming it has FaceID.
Pixel Tablet is better for this price? It will be 128gb and additional speaker dock.
Depends on what ecosystem you want to be in. The storage and dock look really nice and the videos I've seen make it look really slick. But if you're already in on iOS/MacOS, all the little Apple integration features that just work so much better on Apple only devices (Airdrop, iMessage, etc.), the price equivalence disappears with quality of life improvements.

Also, if your are interested in it for drawing or writing, I think the iPads are better with the Apple Pencil gen 2 integration.

I wish the Air came in a 128gb version. At the price point for the 256gb, you might as well get the pro 11 inch.. really only worth buying the 64gb but that amount of space is so low

I'm a huge android fan, way prefer it on my phone to iOS. However, I've tried to switch from my 2018 ipad pro to android a few times and I've always had issues. Sometimes it's a video streaming app that just doesn't work, or doesn't work full screen. Sometimes the swipe up navigation gets triggered when you try to scrub through a video, often the standby batter drain is way worse than an ipad. Not saying you shouldn't get one and I'm really considering the pixel tablet too. But just FYI, the ipad is the golden standard for tablets in my experience.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't bother paying so much for a tablet unless you're getting an ipad. The only other option I was considering was the Lenovo p11 pro gen 2 if it comes up on sale cuz I think that's a really good budget option at $218, but for anything higher end I'm not gonna waste money on an android tablet.
It's similar for android phones for me.. I love my pixel 4a, but Google's "budget" phones are getting expensive enough that I really do not wanna pay $500+ for a tensor chip. At that price I'll just wait for a discounted Samsung phone. I personally wouldn't bother paying $500 for a tensor chip in a tablet either when you can get an M1.
