These rarely go on sale from what I've seen, this is the lowest price I've personally seen since last year.

Costco 2 pack is $200. If they are old then you can easily return at Costco. I bought 2 and they were manufactured in March 2023.

these have a pretty high failure rate with only a 1 year warranty. seems kind of crazy to spend that much on a smoke detector. i have 10 of them around the house and will never buy a smoke nest detector again. 2 have already failed and they would go off at 2 to 3am every night. it was insane

I have few running for more than 2 years. I guess YMMV? My non-smart Kiddie smoke alarm goes every few nights at 2am and has non-replaceable battery.

Nest Smoke Detectors have 2 year warranty FYI

I have had one for years without issue. Added another this year. Some issues with daisy chaining but they were overcome. I believe they are expensive but a fine product. If I wasnt so cheap and relecutant to toss my old detectors I would have a whole house full of them.

After installing them few years ago I realized what a tremendous waste of money this is.

I did find the gen 1 flaky, but I've got 6 gen 2's still going strong 5+ years in now, zero issues.

Have they ever gone off without the nest app notification? I have one but you have me wondering if they go off when I'm not around. Usually I rely on the app to alert me.

it's always been $99 at dell (at least the few times I've checked the past year-ish)
useful if you have amex/dell credits to spend!

battery version in stock but AC version is OOS

I agree, I've had mine for about 5 years with absolutely no issues. These are the best. I do prefer wired though.

Not sure what all the gripe is about. I have these installed throughout my home and really no issues. They take several lithium batteries and about once a year I remove the batteries and clean off the terminals as it develops a coating that gives it a sense of dead batteries. Other that, they do what they're suppose to.
