Yep, Costco 2 pack wired or battery is the way to go currently if you need more than one. OD/OM also has the wired of this https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...ke-And-CO/ Had these installed for years. Like the self test and the fact they talk to you vs just beeping. Also can check status in app. Pricey for sure, but after dealing with dumb beeping ones where even the 10 year ones failed early, glad we changed. These will force replacement at 10 year mark FYI, so if you get one that is x months old, you might not make it 10 years.

I bet OD/OM is not a major vendor for this and may have older stock. The 10 year lifespan is from manufacturing date. So it may have much less than 10 year life.

I expected the same. but took risk and ordered from OD couple of days back. Surprisingly, the manufactured date was 08/2023. Better than the ones received from Bestbuy.

6 months old is acceptable. I got mine from Costco and they were 3-4 months old even after backorder.

I have one battery operated one already that I brought with me to my new(er) house that has three hardwired detectors. Have always wanted to replace those three with the hardwired versions of this but just never wanted to spend the money. Guess I should have when they were cheaper on sale and before any price increases, oh well.

Is it correct that these are currently $249 and not $199 for the 2-pack at Costco? It's annoying they don't let non-members see prices, when that might lead us to join. Best price I see for multipacks is Home Depot online, which has 4-packs for $428 and 3-packs for $328.
