On rtings the C2 and G2 are said to be nearly identical with G2 being very slightly brighter in HDR and also meant to be wall mounted. Why does it seem like everyone here is universally saying the G2 is considerably better?
Signed, guy that just bought a C2 from woot this morning
The G2 is LG's crown jewel of TVs. It's arguably better than even the new LG C3.

This is just an opinion,I feel you're better off with the s95b for the price tbh(well when it goes on sale again). LG is good because they have bigger TVs than 65 inches. For LG models, From what I've read the g2 is pretty much the same as a c2 but can be wallmounted and does white and game mode slightly better. The thing is though Samsung has dipped lower with the s95b and that tv is a lot brighter and has better colors(at least from what I've read in reviews). Like this deal is tempting but i it's just a c2 in disguise so you're paying full price for it pretty much hehe
The G2 has a heat sink layer that allows the poled to go brighter than a C2. Since C3 is also similar to C2 I would place G2 as much more desirable than C2 and C3 since OLEDs do have a tendency to go darker than MiniLED etc.

The only downside is it needs a stand/mounting.

The only LG that I would see s better than G2 is the newer G3 which uses MLA tech to go even brighter. Although the price there will be a deterrent.

With Samsung it is early days of the tech and the build quality has been a concern and reddit has several users mentioning burn in. Plus LG does offer better updates over time and offers some compelling benefits over samsung. Then again those are more preferential.

Burn in Test added .

Fantastic tv at an awesome price. Sits completely flush on the wall like a painting... with cables fed through the wall it looks SO clean. Love the web os interface compared to my previous Samsung. Magic remote, next gen ota tuner, Dolby, fastest hdmi ports, noticably brighter than c2, huge heat sink to cool down internals... I could go on...

The only thing LG needs to do these days is to put the C3's (not sure if the G3 got/needed it or not) auto dimming update onto the CX-C2

Is the extended warranty worth it? I don't remember what company had the better warranty/panel bleed in warranted.
Absolutely not. The G2 comes with a 5 year (covers parts, you pay labor) warranty on the panel. But if you want to take a chance on an extended warranty to cover the non panel parts, then go for it. Best Buy's is the only one worth a damn, but you'll be paying a premium for it

Not sure if it matters to you but the G2 has an ATSC 3.0 tuner while the C2 has the 1.0.
Also, G2 has Wifi 6 oppose to Wifi 5 on the C2 unless you get the Costco model.

I mainly watch Dolby Vision content. From the comparisons I've seen, HDR10 content will appear a bit darker than the same content in Dolby Vision on LG.

Ohh you do have a point. I have read a lot of things about the build quality and tvs coming bent. I honestly really don't want to deal with sending a tv back sounds like a lot of hassle and a lot of packing is made not not come back together these days.

even so idk i sort of rather spend 700$ more for a 77 incher if it's not like 1200ish hehe. just trying to justify it tomyself to hold out but hard lol

Since it's meant to be mounted and sits flush to the wall, do the cords HAVE to be put through the drywall and back out to hide, or how/where are the cords on this TV to figure out if in fact I should walk mount or just get a stand?

The power cable is attached to the TV, which cannot be ran thru the wall. I mount these all the time, most people just get outlet put behind it when they use the mount that comes with it.

It's brighter than the C2 as well. They found a way to cool it better and that allows them to crank up the power and thus the brightness levels to compete with Samsung's QD-OLED. The downside is, more power = shorter lifespan, but it has a 5 year warranty on the panel so...

I've actually seen enough complaints on the S95B that I've been gunshy about pulling the trigger. Apparently burn-in can be a problem in unusual use cases, but supposedly the Samsung C-series which is new for 2023 improves that situation. I'm currently eyeballing an S90C, which is one step below their best S95C, but both are QD-OLED and are mostly the same, other than the 95 coming with the "One Connect" box so you don't have to plug everything into the back of the TV.

I have a 65 inch C7 from 2017, so now 6 years old, every time I read about the next years TVs they always say they're relatively iterative.

Can anyone who has upgraded from a 5/6/7 year old oled comment on the size of the improvement/differences? Thanks in advance
