It's an okay game. I put a few hours into it, and it would totally be worth $4. It's basically like a Banjo-Kazooie clone, but it is a little rough around the edges.

If Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair goes on sale, that's the much better game. Plays a lot like the SNES Donkey Kong games, and I put a lot more time into that one.

It's fun for kids. Given away for free on PC on Epic so if you are platform ambiguous, you could probably get it again sometime. $4 is a decent price on this though.

Dunkey makes videos for entertainment. He's not providing actual review. He'll dunk on a game he actually enjoys if it's funny to do so.

From a Banjo Kazooie stan, it's just okay. I really did have higher expectations for Yooka Laylee. I think it's the writing, and the long drawn out maps. Banjo and Kazooie was always a charming team, and the maps were the right size for a collectathon game. This is where Yooka Laylee falls. The maps are just way too drawn out, and there's a lot of emptiness to what is also considered a collectathon game. Another thing I disliked was some missions took 5-10 seconds, and others took 20+ minutes for the same reward. Makes you not appreciate extra effort for collecting things.

But, for $4, easily worth that. Now, for a dum dum like myself who has to have physical copies who paid around $60 for mine, absolutely not worth it.
