Oh, and appliances, too, but they're not worth mentioning since they're so unreliable.

Going back to slab? EEK! What don't you like about the folding phone? I was thinking about a ZF4.
The best way I can describe it is that it's awesome at being a gadget but mediocre at being a phone. It sounds lazy but opening it multiple times a day eventually becomes kind of a chore when I just want to be able to pull out my phone and use it. It's thick and heavy and has awkward aspect ratios. They don't put their best ultra cameras on them despite being almost $2000. The big screen is awesome for media, but since it's kind of 'square', it wastes a lot of space when watching videos and the s23 ultra videos end up being nearly the same size.

Now to be fair, there are a lot of positives too, but I just kind of want something that's simple and easy to pull out and use.

Great points. I see what you mean. I was disappointed the ZF5 will maintain the same outer screen size. I think the Pixel Fold has a wider front screen, which will minimize the necessity to open the display all the time.

At that point, why get a foldable phone? Just get a slab phone.

The pixel fold looks awesome imo. I looove the aspect ratios on it, but I wouldn't buy a 1st gen device. And yeah the Fold 5 was a huge let down, the last fold that had true innovation was the jump from 1 to 2. There is still so much room for improvement but it's obvious they aren't putting much money into the development with these stagnant yearly releases.

Let's see been holding out also just don't see a point to upgrading from s22 Ultra when almost no spec changes right? Just slightly better processer and camera.
On top they have been offering around $700 trade in for S22 Ultra already but still paying $500+ on top for minor upgrade is just not "slick" IMO.

Any idea whether the S23 line will have reduced prices, in addition to better trade in amounts?

Once best buy starts their sale, I am pretty sure for S23 Ultra they will offer at least $100 more TIV with $100-$200 best buy gift card on top. Based on past history, we are less than 1 month away from that sale to start.

Lol, the reporting has been pretty much the values for the past few months with just now a 50 dollar e credit. Not like last year's where you could trade s21 ultra basically for s22 ultra but we will see. I doubt this is gonna be like last year with the s23s, but good luck as all Slickdealers (me included) we want that sweet deal!!!

I have done about 3 Samsung trade in since 2018.... Every time I hate it. I got rejected twice and had to speak with CSR to get it sorted... I vow to never do these ridiculous trade-in again. Sorry for being the negative voice in this deal
Been doing trade in for many years now and have never had any issues. I have cousins who have been doing it as well and have had 0 issues. Haven't paid full price since the S7E

I think you are right. I have the S22U 512 Model also which looks like its showing for $950 currently. They'd have to offer $800 for the trade in and offer a hefty discount for me to consider it.
Would want to be $200 or less out of pocket after trade in. In the past I was more like $100 or less and few times it was money maker where I sold the accessories that came with the phone like ear buds or tablet.

Currently S22U 512 no trade.

I have done about ten and never got rejected. The last phone was cracked but I represented it as such. If they reject it, I hope they allow you to return the phone you bought?
