Ordered this set ( style F ) in December for the same price. A month later it hadn't shipped and I got a refund. About 2 weeks later pieces started to arrive. This continued over the next month. The 45 pound plates were the wrong style. Amazon contacted me reminding me to return everything or I'd be charged. I contacted customer support and told them I had no problem paying but I wanted the correct 45 pound plates and they needed to send someone to pick it all up if they couldn't do that. Got it free.
10/10 would wait 3 months for free weights again.
Looking forward seeing these being sold in FB market for $2/lbs.
Solid deal.

Remember when these used to be like 129 from dicks?
Weights near me dropped drastically in prices after covid stuff lifted and people stopped working out at home. Close to 90 cents to 1.25 per lb depending on how fast people want to sell

Is this even a good deal? Seems like the average price
I believe it's an average price. I bought a set off WallyWorld because I would rather pay this price than the post covid price and to finally start a healthier lifestyle.
Style 5 seems like almost the exact same ones Costco was selling for $350 (Inspire Fitness) for a few short time periods early pandemic. The bar is even rated at the same 700lbs and molding is like 99% matching. Picking up a set of these since I need a few smaller sizes and can't find the Inspire ones anywhere except random online stores for $900.
This is a good deal for style 5 at least, rubber coated and a bar that is rated at 700# is usually at least $400 any time in the past 3 years.
Steel prices are half of what they were a year ago. Iron weights are starting to catch up to the commodity price per pound. I would not pay over $1 per pound for plates right now.

Rubber weights price crashed and can be had at $1/lb every now and then.
So till pure cast iron plates are below that, I'd say price is meh.

I'd wait for a sale the DSG ones if you have one local to you. Then you can pick them up at the store and inspect them in person.
