Not all of them at least - the Lungo's linked first are plastic.

Any plastic Lavazza Nespresso capsules I have bought (and I've tried quite a few) have been complete trash, which is sad because I love their whole bean products.

Edit - so far any one I've checked has been plastic. If someone finds a pod variety that's aluminum please let me know.

Why do they sell Nespresso pods when they have their own Lavazza "expert" pod based espresso machine? I have the Lavazza Expert and the pods are quite expensive.

Why wouldn't they? There's no patent left on the Nespresso Originaline pods, so they can sell them and not pay Nespresso a penny. The problem is their Nespresso pods are no good, whereas their proprietary system gets very good reviews.

DO NOT BUY - these are terrible in taste. I just received an order from Amazon and the Lungo is so diluted and tasteless, I can describe it as being between a tea and pee. Amazingly NOT GOOD coffee ,it is a waste even given for free.
