these printers were great then when we HAD to deal with all the tinkering that took a lot of time.
The next gen printers save you a ton of time, and i dont know how much you make an hour, but i doubt you'd want to waste time fixing the machine in exchange for work that pays.
if the bambu came out 3 years ago before i got all the ender 3s, i would have just gone with bambu. thousands of dollars in time tinkering unnecessarily.
need a deal on a 3d scanner or might look into diy options. clear and black pla has been cheap and acrylic paint markers on Amazon are super cool for finishing prints.
printing origami carabiners, USB dust covers, and random storage accessories have been my favorite. the customizer on thingiverse is rad too.
edit: cancelled the pla I ordered with my printer direct from sovol. it was backordered for 2.5 months so far with no anticipated ship date. the provided pla ran great and would have liked more but wasn't worth the wait/price for me. sovol refunded me after 2-3 emails back and forth

that is $1500 worth of work i took off to work on the ender 3s. i chalked that up as a business loss
i have not wasted any time with a bambuu yet.
i hope people calculate this foresight that i didn't when i started my 3d business
if this was a year ago, i would not give this deal any flack. but as someone who prints to sell, and has invested a lot into these fdm/sla printers ( i have 6 printers and the creality belt many don't have due to its complex alignment)(i print body kits at a high margin so tinkering with this belt is worth the time to me)
3x the price sounds terrifying but it equates to $400.
if you can make $400 a day or two, which many do here. it is not much money to hold out on.
the countless hours you will spend tinkering on a old creality or this sovol or any past gen machines will not be worth the hours you give up...IF you make around $100+ a day.
If you made $100 a day. holding out 4 days of work for an investment into a next generation machine that will not only make you money, but save you tons of time.
the old gen machines NEED A LOT OF UPKEEP. that equates to a lot of time you have to invest into these old gens compared to a next gen.
all i can tell you is, if you have sold prints for over long duration. you will see the time adds up.
bottom line is my best advice for printers - buy the one that works for your purpose. many people aren't printing to sell and only want to print very few things for hobby. this is a great printer for you. although the ender 3st on sale at $200 is far better and it will come down to this as a normal price soon.

im just sharing this to save someone time if they want to save time. if they want to spend time tinkering. go ahead. i love to myself and have tons of technical hobbies.
you dont spend time maintaining an inkjet printer. it just prints and you replace the ink cartidge. no time wasted. a typewriter takes much maintenance, cleaning and replacing parts.
over time this adds up. but im guessing you guys are in college and don't have work right now? such free time, im jealous!

just ignore all that and focus on the machine. my advice. go to youtube and do not listen to any of us
and i never said creality is better than sovol or prusa. they could easily be 3x 10 times better. and it wouldnt matter because all last gen printers are obsolete to the bambu as of current.
bragging about your prusa? go check youtube on the newly released mk4 for $1100 vs bambu p1p

You also fail to comprehend that the use case many people have is vastly different from yours. If you step back from the egocentrism you'd realize $700 to $1000 is a waste of money for what most people are doing. Most of the people that cruise these threads aren't going to start a printing business.
I don't need to justify anything. In fact, I'd say you need to stop projecting your own complex that's led you to spam post half the comments in this thread. I know I don't need to spend over twice as much to make the few mold positives I need or the prototype pieces I need. I'm better off spending that money on scrap aluminum. If I can save money and get something vaguely similar to the wanhoa i3 I've been using for the last 6 years that can print about 12x12 in CF...that I might be interested in. Unfortunately, there probably won't be any real information from people about this printer (like most of the other printer deals lately) because of the incessant threadcrapping bambu fanboys, of which apparently central casting sent us you today. So thanks for that.

I see someone said they had to tweak this to get the Inland PLA+ from Amazon working. Is there a brand/type of filament I can get off Amazon that works well with this?
Edit: last thing, despite the price drop we're just planning to order this from Amazon. Sure it's $40 more right now but if it breaks, or she looses interest in a week or two amazons return process is fantastic and what I'm reading is that Sovols is not.
