Same. Used to love Priceline but it's gone downhill lately IMO. I'm Priceline VIP and the "amazing" coupon codes they send me for 5% - 10% off their Express Deals barely cover the marked-up fee cost they slap onto them in the first place. Also, I was excited that Priceline started listing private home rentals until I realized that they hide absolutely ridiculous "daily fees" until the final step of checkout, which typically end up doubling the sticker price. I wouldn't care if they were just honest about the cost per night up front (like their sister site Booking.com is), instead of being scummy about it.

Also -- yeah, lukewarm deals here, and anything that's half decent is super limited. (First 25 people to book? Seriously??) At least Priceline still has an excellent UI with its map view and multiple filters. Lately I've used it to find potential bookings then book those cheaper on another site.
Happy Birthday! Feels Priceline itself can't handle the excitement of their 25th birthday with those lukewarm offers. Was booking quite often with them, but not anymore as other booking websites or direct booking with hotels is way cheaper.

Good way to get your account sent to a collection's agency.

Just because they can't charge you doesn't make the debt just go away. This is like buying something with a check and before they get the chance to cash the check, you close the bank account. I guess you just don't have to pay for it anymore!

Well ,Totally wrong...I am not committing my life to them... Where in T&C says that "You have to be for 1 year" ??

infact it says Membership will renew at $189 annually "if not cancelled". if not paid means it canceled.

Priceline screwed me over like 10 years ago... they've been a sh*tty company and never used them since.

Based on research of hotel prices I did a couple weeks ago in four cities (road trip), it appears the prices of rooms increased around $25 each... buyer beware.

I applaud any post of substance. But in the end, you're still airing RETAIL moves. A lot of travel can be hacked 50-99% off, not 10-20%. Go completely(!) outside the box
While I appreciate your applause, following it up with a statement like yours is a bit disingenuous. Hacking travel for 50-99% off? I can only assume you're referring to some sort of credit card or points strategy, but those tend to be one off cases. Regardless, get out there and travel. It's the best use of your time and resources. All the stuff just breaks eventually. Memories can last much longer.

WRONG. "Not paying for it" does NOT mean "I canceled it". Not paying for it at the end of the trial means you owe them money.

if you want to cancel membership, you need to explicitly cancel the membership.

Where in the T&C does it say that? Right here: https://i.imgur.com/VPwjbar.png It's all literally spelled out right in the terms of service you agreed to when you signed up:

Quote :
Your membership will continue for the period specified when you sign up, unless earlier canceled or terminated in accordance with Section 8.

8. Termination

8.1 Plus Membership Non-Renewal

You may elect not to renew your Plus Membership (1) in your CLEAR customer account, which you can log into or register for at www.clearme.com, (2) by telling us via email to [email protected], so long as you use the current email for your account, or (3) by contacting CLEAR's customer service group at 1-855-CLEARME (253-2763) or through our chat function. You must inform us that you do not want to renew before the end of your then-current Term or you will be charged.
Will they definitely send your account to a collections agency if instead of canceling your subscription, you revoke your credit card? Not necessarily. Can they legally? Yes. Has Clear Secure done this in the past to other users? Also yes.

OMG, I used to love Priceline back in the day. Got so many good deals on hotels. But things changed and it became more like one of many hotel booking sites so haven't used them in ages.

I take at least half-dozen vacations domestically at practically no annual cost and unrelated to any card spending. Everyone here only thinks in terms of retail "discounts" within the industry of travel. One has to think entirely "out of the box" re vacationing

There are plenty of ways to creatively "vacation" but they aren't for everyone. Timeshare presentations, couch surfing, dog/house sitting. I guess it just all depends on how you want to do it (and what your wife will allow).

The coupon/promo code box will only appear if the deal is eligible for BDAY25. If it doesn't show up, that deal is ineligible for BDAY25.
