The most common complaint with this case is airflow which might be an issue with high end builds but I've used it with a Ryzen 5600 and both a RTX 2060 and a RX6600 with no issue. The biggest reason to get this case is that it can lay horizontally which allows it to fit in certain entertainment cabinets.

I thought it was the Q500L that got all the bad airflow reviews? The Q500L was a rework of the Q300L that moved the PSU to the front of the case to allow for a full sized ATX motherboard and led to disastrous airflow.

The Q300L has been around forever IIRC and always seemed to have a decent rep as a budget case. The price in this deal seems a bit high.

Not a bad case for low-mid end builds for around $40. I've used it a few times with zero issues. I recommend 2 front intake and 1 rear exhaust fan.

I built a spare parts machine with the q500l version. My only real complaint was that the side panel is plastic, and it looks cheap and hazy right out of the box.

Acrylic side panel? I wouldn't touch it near the price unless you just don't care about scratches. Guess cutting glass around the I/O was to difficult.

its funny how steadfast coolermaster is on sticking with their ridiculous logo.
Does the logo negatively impact the capabilities of their products?

Good budget case. I built my wife's PC in this. Plenty of room while remaining compact. The magnetic dust filters are nice, but easy to knock off if it's in a high traffic area. This is decidedly BUDGET. The side window is plastic, not glass, and it WILL get scratched. Bear that in mind if aesthetics are important to you.

I almost bought this a couple years ago, but eventually passed after looking at it in store at microcenter. Overall, the metal is very thin (which I guess is expected considering the price). But more importantly, the magnet air filters can get creases pretty easily, causing them to no longer lay flat and shift around.

If you're on a strict budget and don't care too much about aesthetics, it will work well enough.

It's a totally adequate case for the money, but I'll say from my own experience working with it: It's larger than you might be imagining (in a negative way), and the magnetic mesh panels fall off with barely a nudge. Those mesh panels also get creased very easily. The plastic side-panel never really "tricks" you into think it's anything but cheap plexiglass, and it has a sort of hazy appearance right out-of-the-box

I personally wouldn't recommend the case, but it's legitimately a budget case, so I can't be too harsh.

I built a basic computer in one of these cases for a friend's entry gaming pc. 2600k and a gtx 960. The case is basic, cheap, and I liked it.

I will probably buy this to hang onto for my kids build with a 4770k when he's a year or two older than now.

For the price, this is a very good case. Built 5 machines for friends, and this excels in the following aspects -

1) Can fit a 280MM AIO on the front.
2) Can take a 12 inch card after fitting the AIO.
3) Can also take a Scythe Fuma 2 Air cooler
4) Adequate space behind the mobo plate and the back panel for organizing + additional drives. Installed a 3.5" without issues.
5) Very small footprint. The I/O and power port is customizable to 3 orientations.
6) You can flip it upside down by just removing the bottom feet and installing them to another side (front or top).

Negatives -

1) Bottom filter is flimsy as hell. Either remove it during initial assembly and install it towards the end, or remove it entirely.
2) PCIe slots blanks are breakaway kind, so have spare blankings if you change/switch devices a lot.
3) The PSU has a mounting bracket that gets attached to the PSU and then the PSU + bracket get attached to the case. One additional step, but it runs the power cable very close to the edge of the bracket.
Recommend installing the PSU right after the motherboard and remove the I/O & power panel for cleaner access.

Totally hijacking here, but the Fractal North case with its wood trim on the front is gorgeous. I love Fractal's stuff.

it's meh, and cheap. got one to build a basic rig for my grandma and grandpa so they can play their card games. otherwise, i no longer buy cases for myself. my PC is rack mounted in the basement. its basically a skeleton of a case for cooling and good airflow. all i really need coming from it is an hdmi cable to the tv upstairs as well as a usb cable to a hub.
