Don't buy it. Wait for it to go lower! If no one buys, they will lower the price even more to make more sales.

We're only saving $12 from this "sale" according to its regular price. $80-90 would be a better deal.

Yeah but, 1 year ago it was $200 with a few short drops to $150 here and there. Although it may only be a recent sale of $12 off, it has dropped nearly $100 in a matter of months.

Will it go lower? Maybe, but many manufacturers are already reducing their production to drive the prices back up. There's no guarantee that prices will continue to drop. That said there is also no guarantee that prices will increase either.

This is a historically good price for this drive.

My external EVO 870 reads as generic so can't utilize all the perks
Not all enclosures work with Samsung Magician...I have this one and it worked...(assuming NVME, but re-read and you are talking SATA, so sorry not sure.)

This is on par with the Samsung for nine bucks more. Seems like a no brainer.

Why buy refurb for a few dollars less? Also, if this is for a laptop then P31 all the way, the thermals are much better.

Hello everyone, I've read lots of good things about this drive on here and other forums. The price seems to come down bit by bit, which is awesome. I've seen a lot of other drives pull a switcheroo on components, causing the drives to not be as good. Is that something I should worry about with this one? Is this drive consistent in performance now vs last year? Nothing much changed? Thanks.
No info on an update to components or any changes. Hynix is not known to do that.
Seems to be the same drive at a much better price. Many will pick a Gen. 4 over the Gen 3.

It depends on whether your enclosure decides to pass the underlying drive identifier info or some generic name like NVMe Drive.

For some enclosures that don't work you can reflash the firmware with blank drive identifier fields and it will begin to pass the underlying identifiers.

SK Hynix still in lala land for this old last Gen ssd. Teamgroup has 1 TB SSD for $29. Why is SK Hynix still overcharging for their SSDs. Just as bad as Samsung ripping people off.

Do this drive really run cooler than a Samsung EVO Plus. Asking regarding the 2TB size.

My Samsung (in a laptop) runs at 64C just browsing this site. Had it for 2 years. Has not done any harm to the notebook that I am aware of. But curious if I can reduce the fan kicking in.

I bought the 1TB version of this same product in 2021. It has now died. I hope the warranty will cover it. Pretty disappointed because I thought this was a reliable product. Maybe I just have some bad luck. Might look into the P41 or Samsung. I don't know.

only few companies actually make the NAND and Controller for SSDs they just rebrand them

They have a 5-year warranty so I'd look into that.

If a SSD died on me that quickly I wouldn't continue buying them. There's other options out there.

i guess Bentley and Rolls Royce really overcharging as well, it's the same 4 wheel vehicle transportation as a Toyota or Honda...
