You have to run wire for PoE/communication and decide how and where you're storing recording. Functionality wise these are much better.

I have Arlo and am moving away as well, because subscriptions and being welcomed to an advertisement every time I open the app is an immediate bye bye for me.

Have this camera. Wide view captures 4k and zoom does 1080p. FPS is 20 and 15 respectively during the day according to Blue Iris.

The specs say it requires 802.3af which is standard POE - where are you seeing that it requires POE++?
From the Reolink page, go under specs, it does say 802.3af but it also says 48V active. Maybe I am confusing something on my end

I have 3 reolink Duolink cameras running already. Any benefit of these over the Duos?

New to PoE cams... is there a downside to this camera taking 2 channels?

Only downsides I can think of is if you are limited to a number of channels on your NVR software or if you are storage conscience and don't want the extra data needed of the extra feed. For my specific use case on this camera, the dual feeds are useful. The wide angle is used for person/vehicle detection and the zoomed in lens is used as a license plate reader.

Is human detection free with this camera ? Or have to install 3rd party apps?
It is built into the camera. Easiest configuration is via their mobile app or desktop clients. If you want rich notifications, you can integrate with an app called "Pushover". One time app fee, no subscriptions after. Still fairly easy to do.

Thanks for confirming, HA compatibility info is always helpful. Do you know if this camera will show up as two separate video streams in Home Assistant or any other RTSP-compatible camera software (Frigate for example)?
Shows up as 1 device, with 2 separate streams as part of the entities. The AI detection states are also exposed in HA, so you can use the motion detection as triggers or conditions for other integrations.

How's the Google Assistant and Home support on these? I see they have it but limited on specific lenses?

Thanks! I guess that works--all I really want to see is the wide angle lens. I think I will buy this then!

Thanks. I think 802.3af is generally 48v (about 15 watts per port), so standard POE switches should be fine with this camera. In any case I will find out since I ordered a few to try out with my existing 802.3af switches.

Reolink does not do well in low light conditions ..

See if the Annke camera deals with larger sensors are still available ..

Thanks. It is and on FlashSale for the same price as the SD you linked to. Looks like you can use BFSAVE5 to bring it down to $133

Nice deal @barebottoms ..

btw - if you don't like the color you can always paint the body .. ( some do this to match the house walls or trim )

Any idea if this will work with a Qsee poe nvr? Currently have the 8816 with 4mp cameras.

Thanks for that info!
Now when you say larger sensors you mean going from this cam here witch is 1/2.7" to the annke cam from the link to 1/1/2"?
Then what is better than 1 1/2" sensor?

Was thinking to get EmpireTech IPC-Color4K-T180 dua cam and see how it works for my driveway , i do have a street light pole in front of my home.
I think the IPC-Color4K-T180 has intrusion and vehicle/human detection, wish they had pet too. Not sure if is Ai.
