They may feature a slightly different weight gas strut which will hold more or less weight, and may feature their logo on the outside cover, but they're all the same product from the same company.
It's a common tactic to flood amazon marketplace with dozens of company names and then tier prices slightly, so you're always choosing their product, but you have the wonderful illusion of choice and "brand preference".
So, you could get the NB North Bayou version for the same price, or their lighter one for slightly cheaper.

These products shouldn't make it to frontpage.
The NB Bayou brand is an example of the same product but a different label. The standard pricing for a product of this quality is what the "deal" is listed as.
What I am intending to do, is raise awareness that us slickdealers needs to identify marketplace items branded differently, as the same item, so you don't get in these debates as to whether a VEVO mount is a better or lower quality mount versus a NB BAYOU or HUANOU, and worth an upcharge.
Creating illusion of choice to tier product pricing tactically to manipulate the market to "think" that a product is on sale because 6 similar products are priced higher is manipulative business practice.

It's not on the FP (at the time of this comment). But if it were, why should they not make it? If the product is solid and a comparable unit can't be had for cheaper, then why not FP if the community thinks it is a good deal?
I recently bought the dual arm version of this, and it seems as good as another I have that cost close to $100.
Full disclosure, I don't think this is a super price on this particular single arm, but saying none of the product line ever deserves FP is a weird take.
BTW, it looks like the North Bayou one comes off the same assembly line. Was that what you were implying or do you think it is higher quality?

It appears on Frontpage as a promoted product, it is more obvious on desktop site than mobile app.

But ultimately, I simply want to know if this is worth $40 or not. And if not, what are alternatives? I have an ultrawide screen and don't see many deals for such larger sizes. I don't care what the price was, I want to know...does this work as expected or not. From there I can decide if my wallet is ready or not
Crap is crap whatever the price. But not-crap is a function of timing and value as defined by the buyer. Deal that are slick are not absolute, they are relative.

First of all, appreciate your due diligence and sharing insights.
I get your if you prefer Chinese vs USA companies. However, brand tiering is very common across all industries. For ex;
: T-Mobile/Sprint/now mint, all P&G companies selling toiletries, Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Accura etc. They cater to different sub segments in the market.

Completely agreed. Well done!

No way is that even similar. Toyota doesn't hide under a dozen different brand names and flood the market with their products.
Your example is far too simplistic and not applicable to what that person is talking about.
