Will post again. If you live in the Chicago/Milwaukee area then you can buy a lightly used Steelcase Gesture for $300 from a reputable resale shop. The one I bought still had tags attached.

I have another Gesture I purchased through Crandall and only have great things to say about both Crandall and the Gesture. Just want to let the SD community know that there is currently a better option available.
If you're going to buy one of these chairs first check out the local market on Craigslist, OfferUp and Facebook Marketplace. You can find them cheaper. I picked up a Leap V2 for $120 and an Aeron for $350. Both are like new.
Pls put prices in the title and the description post.

Anyone know what 3rd party headrests available for the Leap V2.

Lorrel headrest works and just check YouTube on installation for it.

You might want to try these chairs if you have a retail store locally. There are a lot of configurations, and sizes. Finding the correct combination of size and lumbar support options was valuable for me to learn how they applied to my body size and shape.

I got the gesture with headrest in one of these recent sales. Looks brand new and was packed to the 9's with fantastic assembly instructions and even a screw bit that was needed. Had it together in less than 5 minutes. Shipping weight was 75 pounds! It's a beast.

So far the chair has been great. Upgraded braking casters are near silent. My only complaint is that the armrests are rather hard. Their video suggested the gestures were softer than the leap so I can't imagine how hard the leap must be.
i got these for my leap v2 and they feel like pillows for my elbows. they seem to have doubled in price since i bought them pre covid but you could probably find something like them for cheaper

I found those same ones yesterday. They show up tomorrow. Good to hear a slick dealer refer them!

Does anyone have the Gesture with the lumbar included? I heard it makes the chair worse due to the plastic lumbar making the back of the chair stiffer. I also heard it's hard to remove on the model with the headrest, so I asked them if they can remove it before shipping.

Depends on the chair you are looking for. Most chairs only come in one size. Aeron chair comes in multiple sizes.

I've purchased from Crandall and I would definitely go with them again if needed. I picked up a returned Gesture that had a small scratch to the chair base I don't care about whatsoever and saved a ton.

I would say an ergonomic chair is one of those things any professional using a chair for 8 hours a day should invest in. There's nothing wrong with purchasing used, but you may want to replace the seat cushion on certain models, the Leap V2 is one I know many people prefer Crandall's thicker cushion for.

If you're new to an ergonomic chair, you might find it a bit uncomfortable at first, but over time you see the benefits. I appreciate the Gesture more two years later than I did the first couple of months.

Meh. I bought a new gesture drop shipped directly from Steelcase on eBay for $550. These prices are criminal.

Wow, you are right, never even thought to look on eBay. Just a brief look on it shows there really is no reason just to not buy off there, it's more expensive to buy a used chair from some random dude off Marketplace even.

I'm not seeing their storefront. Care sharing the link?

P.S. If it's Madisonseating then I'm not interested since they are refurbished chairs and not "new open box" like they claim.

I have an Amia that I bought refurbished from BTOD. Think I paid about $500. In my opinion, the chair is fairly comfortable, but not any more than a random chair from Office Depot. Personally, I don't think any of these high end ergo chairs are worth retail.
