Buy another 20 bags when the sale is active, and before you leave the store, just return using your old receipt.

You probably got a lot better deal, too. 30 yards of this stuff would be over $800.

I have rubber mulch around my pool. I wouldn't ever use rubber mulch in an actual garden bed. Wood mulch biodegrades and enriches the soil over time. Rubber mulch just leeches chemicals into the ground and is messy. I hate it.

1.5cu ft vs 2.0cu ft
so if measured in a yard (27 cu ft)
HD deal-13.5 bags ($28)
Lowes deal- 18 bags ($36)
Isnt that a no brainer!

Sam's Club has rubber mulch 1.25 cu ft for $6.98.
Please don't use rubber mulch. It is toxic for the environment and puts loads of chemicals into the ground. Real mulch enriches the soil.

do we know how long this deal will last?
If it lasts longer than 4 hours, you should contact your doctor.

Oh, wait - that says Vigoro. Sorry, misread the title.

Anyone know if Lowe's is doing a deal also. Home Depot is on the other side of town vs Lowe's being 2 minutes from house and I usually need to get 40 bags of mulch in multiple trips.
Unfortunately, no. At least not for Memorial Day it seems. Their "sale" is for $3.33 a bag. It will certainly come back sometime before the end of summer. My guess would be 4th of July since that's the next holiday. They have way too many pallets of this stuff at every store I've been to for them to be done with the $2 deal for the season. It'll be a lot hotter by then, though.

In my experience, the Vigoro at HD and the Scotts NatureScape (in smaller bags now) at Lowe's have always been full of a good bit of trash wood. Like construction lumber they have shredded, and some of it not even completely dyed. The plain looking bags of hardwood mulch that Lowe's does several times a year for 5 for $10 is often a higher quality...smells like manure, though.

I would have to take four to drive trips to get as much mulch that I would need. Which would be about 70 bags give or take.
What are you driving, a hatchback? My pickup is a short bed and I easily got 40 bags in the back of it. Could've gotten 50+ no problem with a cargo net over it.

Can I put mulch on top of an area of soil where I dont want any growth?
Sure you can, but it's not going to stop anything. Maybe just slow it down a little, at best. If you want to stop anything from growing there, get an herbicide with 40% Glyphosate (the same active ingredient in RoundUp): https://www.domyown.com/search?w=...te&search=

in my experience this seems to vary regionally. they must have different sources for different regions. I used to have good quality with vigoro mulch and swear by it, but who knows I might be unlucky this year.

Midsize SUV. Chat gpt says about 14 bags but I'm pretty sure I can stuff 17 or so if I utilize every nook and the front seat.

Yikes. I'd never trust this stuff inside a vehicle. The bags are almost always saturated from being stored outside, and they'll leak highly staining water pretty badly.

They definitely source it regionally. The Scotts stuff is the worst. The generic looking hardwood mulch bags at Lowe's are my top choice for bagged mulch. Vigoro isn't far behind for me.

You know I'm really glad you told me that. I was thinking of laying a tarp down but still if it leaks it'll probably still stain something. Idk reading the quality of both this brand and Scott's and hearing lots of mixed reviews. I may hold off and just go with a local company that does bulk. Maybe be more worth it to just have quality stuff delivered.
