If you do want to buy one of these, try discount code DONTGO5 for another 5% off.

Edit: It appears that the code is now expired
Because you expect the entire full line of Altus components on a $210 sale bike? Really? You also complained that the Royce Union didn't have Sora for all its drivetrain in the RGF $280 gravel bike deal too. Trek Domane AL 3 Disc with the full line of Sora costs $1,450. You keep on insinuating that the rest of the components are "junk" and now you complain about this $210 bike not having all Altus drivetrain. When I asked you earlier to name me just one bike that put up the Sora specs with that other deal, you never had an answer and couldn't even name one bike deal with those specs at that price especially since the pandemic. You can happily get a Trek or Specialized bike with "all the full drivetrain" with Altus/Sora but you will pay a ton more. Oh wait you can't get a Trek with all Altus because they don't offer that.

If you want you can get the Trek FX2 with the Altus shifters, Acera front derailleur, forged alloy crank (not Shimano), KMC chain (not Shimano), etc. on sale for $700 (msrp $800). Are you going to get crazy because the Trek FX2 is using a different crank and a KMC chain? The Trek is over 3x more. Even Trek mixes up components parts. People really need to be realistic in price expectations and also understand that other brands can work well in drivetrain. Don't assume that everything is "junk" as you called it because it didn't match with all Sora or all Altus.

The most important part of the drivetrain is the derailleur and it is Altus and it is mixed with Shimano front derailleur and Shimano cassette. With the Shimano shortage, you definitely can't expect the full entire "atlus drivetrain line" for $210 sale bike. Even Trek isn't putting out the full line of Altus in the Trek FX2. Gotta be realistic and have reasonable expectations.
No kidding, seems like all the bike threads lately get threadcrapped by the same few people arguing about component-related minutiae that 90% of people shopping bikes in this price range couldn't care less about. We get it bros, the $400 bike marked down to $200 doesn't have components as good as the ones from , move along and stop polluting the got damn threads.

I came across this hybrid bike and it kind of surprised me with its components and the sale price. For a $210 hybrid bike to have Tektro mechanical disc brakes, 24 speed Shimano Altus drivetrain (internally routed) and an 80mm adjustable suspension fork seems to be a pretty good deal.

Another option for people who may not want a hybrid and want do more gravel riding is the Giordano Trieste Gravel Bike for $299.99 ($499.99).

According to the specs they give, the rear derailleur is "Atlus" and the other drivetrain parts are a mixture of generic, a KMC chain, and some form of Shimano. How is this an Altus drivetrain (other than one derailleur)?

Are the components much different on the gravel bike?

Hybrid bikes are similar but they also have different purposes. On youtube there are some really good explanation on the differences that explain it well. So many bikes overlap each other nowadays. Your purpose will determine your decision. I ride on the road lot more than gravel so I prefer hybrid bike as I like its comfort. I find my hybrid to be more comfortable than my road and mountain bikes. I am a fan of the hybrid flat bar as it turns better. Everyone has their preferences and their style. I put the most mileage on my hybrid but it is also because my road and mountain bike are expensive so that is another factor in security lockup. I rarely ever ride my mountain bike on the road.

What I expect is that if they are going to claim it is a Shimano Altus drivetrain, that more than one piece is going to be Shimano Altus. With that other bike, it is not a Sora groupset if only the derailleurs and shift levers are Sora and I never named a bike that came with a Sora groupset at $280 because none exist, not even the bike in that deal.

I know damn well that many bikes come with mixed components, but if they do, they sure better not try to claim that the whole drivetrain is a higher level because one single component of it is. Every time I see such dishonesty, I'll call it out - sorry if that offends you.
The funny part is how you insinuate and call the parts on the gravel bike junk but in your post in the specialized $575 , you say how it is a great deal and is a great bike with great components when they downgrade from Shimano to microshift drivetrain and brakes go from tektro to radius. Nice cutting corners there. You literally stated "Please buy from or your local independent Specialized dealer.....". It makes sense now. Tell me where are the great Specialized hybrid bikes under $450 so we all can support Specialized stores. Value matters to me. I have a specific Trek bike that hits the marks for me when I later upgrade and I am probably going to get it but I don't see the bang for the buck value with Trek or Specialized. They are significantly overpriced.

Has stainless spokes and a freehub. Tektro are OK for mechanical disc. They could have gone cheaper. Too bad it didn't come with a rigid fork

I'm 5-11 but with shorter legs so I'm guessing I'm a medium.

Small.

Go with the side selections.

Small (5'4"-5'8")
Medium (5'7"-5'11")
Large (5'10-6'4")

17" seat tube with the small and I think that small would fit better. If you are 5'7" with long legs and long arms than proportional sized people, you could opt for a medium (18" seat tube) but I think small is better sized for the high majority of 5'7" riders.

Small.

There is a size chart on the website after you scroll down after the spec sheet.
There are two charts, neither matches and there are overlaps, which is why some of us have no idea what size to get.

The bottom says...

Small: 5-4 to 5-8
Medium: 5-3 to 5-8
Large: 5-10 to 6-4

The buying options say...

Small: 5-4 to 5-8
Medium: 5-7 to 5-11
Large: 5-10 to 6-4
