If you want you can get the Trek FX2 with the Altus shifters, Acera front derailleur, forged alloy crank (not Shimano), KMC chain (not Shimano), etc. on sale for $700 (msrp $800). Are you going to get crazy because the Trek FX2 is using a different crank and a KMC chain? The Trek is over 3x more. Even Trek mixes up components parts. People really need to be realistic in price expectations and also understand that other brands can work well in drivetrain. Don't assume that everything is "junk" as you called it because it didn't match with all Sora or all Altus.
The most important part of the drivetrain is the derailleur and it is Altus and it is mixed with Shimano front derailleur and Shimano cassette. With the Shimano shortage, you definitely can't expect the full entire "atlus drivetrain line" for $210 sale bike. Even Trek isn't putting out the full line of Altus in the Trek FX2. Gotta be realistic and have reasonable expectations.

And nice butchering of my quote. In the future it'd be best if you were to quote accurately, especially if you are going to claim that I "literally" said something. No where in that thread did I say it was a great bike with great components. And the only things on that other bike that are Sora are Derailleurs and levers.
But what does any of that have to do with this Giordano, do you dispute what I've said about this bike or do you just want to keep digging up old disagreements?
"Please buy from or your local independent Specialized dealer.....".
It makes sense why you bash other way cheaper bikes in the other threads and talk about how great of a deal the specialized Rockhopper is at $580 plus tax and you want people to buy from local specialized stores. Don't forget that people pay through the nose though for those premium flagship brands. Purchase price matters.
The bottom says...
Small: 5-4 to 5-8
Medium: 5-3 to 5-8
Large: 5-10 to 6-4
The buying options say...
Small: 5-4 to 5-8
Medium: 5-7 to 5-11
Large: 5-10 to 6-4
I might buy a medium. 12 bikes (Only like 4 function.) aren't enough. :/

So, is it a good deal and decent bike for the money?
Realistically, if a hybrid bike suits your purpose and you don't currently own a bike, I think this will do fine. What many people don't understand is that $1000 bikes are a bad deal for someone who doesn't know that they'll use it a lot. For people "curious" about casual, infrequent cycling, I'd say it's a buy.
