This previous popular deal has some good discussion regarding this power station.

I can't speak to this model but I've been really disappointed in Rockpals usable capacity. Don't know if they use less efficient inverters or just over rate their capacity but I've seen usable under 70% of rated on two different examples. This compared to mid 80%s for a similar load on a like sized battery from other manufacturers

edit: though now that I see this is a "4- stroke" solar battery all bets are off.

Inverters are not as efficient and I have noticed that even at 50W of AC draw, the two cooling fans tend to go full blast (and I think they are 4.5w each). This is on another model though, not sure if this one suffers from the same programming/heat
The capacity is legit, but most people do not realize that the cooling of the device (at lower and longer sessions) will take a significant chunk of the capacity

I'm sure you are correct that cooling takes a toll. But I tested a 500 watt/hr version with a 40 watt resistive load to give it the benefit of the doubt after it performed so poorly at 400 watts. Cooling never kicked on and ended up with about 65% rated capacity.
