I have tried 5-10 earbuds and spent a lot of time on youtube for reviews. I wont call myself an expert by any means but have focussed mainly on mic/call clarity aspect.
My 2 favourite pair of earbuds with some of the better mic/call clarity - 1more comfobuds pro and LG Tone FP7. Both have 3 mics per earbuds and very good noise reduction algo and people on other side have never complained about any issues in hearing me, even when I am outside or walking against high wind noise. I got both under $60, and both have ANC as well infact.

Do yourself a favor and splurge on the pixel buds pro. Active listening and noise cancelling. I use them in meetings all the time, mic and speakers are great.
I agree with you 100% and they didn't cost much more than these. I think I paid 50 bucks for them but I like them they're small
