Couple additional notes on the light. The 3500 lumens from the Cree XHP50.2 only lasts for about 30 seconds before the temperature ramps down significantly due to thermal regulation. The real sustainable output is 600-700 lumens for over an hour. This is a lot of light. Runtime graphs and a more complete in depth review can be found here. https://zeroair.org/2023/05/08/wu...ht-review/

Another nice feature is being able to charge your phone or other USB devices from the flashlight when it acts as a powebank. The 18650 that comes with the light is about 3000mah so you can probably charge your iPhone to 70% without issues when the light is almost fully charged.

Anduril 2.0 is a fantastic UI but takes a lot of getting used to. Im an engineer and used to reading flowcharts, yet it's taken me a couple of hours to really know what I'm doing. Simple UI can be enabled quite easily too, I recommend you use it most of the time so you don't accidentally lock yourself out or set the light to funky modes.

For $19, the light is a steal. It's by far higher quality than other lights at this price point, and 80% of the quality of the lights that cost 3-5x as much.

If you are planning to mostly scare off zombies, I'd say the bluish bright 6000K/cool version. For foraging mushrooms and berries at night, definitely the 4-5000K neutral versions with higher CRI.

Did not see this deal post, but picked up a couple earlier today. The magnetic tail cap for this is also on sale. The fc13s is also $20 on Amazon if someone would rather get that.

Can you recommend which 'white' is better for flashlights, the neutral or the cool white? Many thanks!

Also, a yt video shows the xhp50.2 casts a wider flood light effect vs the sft40 that has more of a centered hot spot? From your post, do you prefer the xhp50.2? Again, thank you in advance

Depends on what you are using it for. 6000K is very bright and penetrating with a stark blue tone to it. Many high beam auto headlights are in this range. If you are looking at foliage, below 5000K will give you a truer color. 6000K makes foliage look washed out.

Neat little low priced 18650 cell hotrod with anduril 2 UI (best UI out there, but takes a bit to learn). Turbo mode is a mosfet so literal fire starting levels of light for like 15-30 seconds before thermal throttling. I suspect regular brightness levels use a linear driver so not super efficient, but I mean what can you expect for the price of two In-n-Out meals...

Thank you for the reply. Let me ask you this: in the event of an apocolypse and you could only pack one of the two flashlights, which would you choose?

Agreed, nice small light with a good neutral tint. Got this recently, took a long time to arrive from Wurkkos. Great price and interface. Really, nothing bad about it.

Slightly prefer the TS25 with 4 LEDs and a 21700 battery. It's sold out now and replaced by the (much pricier atm) TS26. It'll be a while until that one hits the 20s.
