Wow I haven't used brickseek in a while but they've absolutely destroyed that site. Everything is behind a paywall now.

Which is insane because in my experience the data was at best *maybe* 50% accurate. At $10/month, the data should absolutely be better than iffy. So RIP BrickSeek

Yeah, you can't change it anymore with every search if you want to -- and the search results always seems to show only the closest 2 stores for me, one of which is defunct and closed a few years ago. Brickseek has consistently gone downhill for awhile now and it's pretty much completely useless now.

Just thinking the EXACT SAME THING. Been awhile... it's destroyed. Can't do anything worthwhile unless you fork over $10 a MONTH. Good luck with that. They're catering to the 'professional flippers' or incredibly addicted deal shoppers seeking their next high shopping for clearance pricing on things they don't need or even want. $10 a month. If I'm an ebay flipper, sure. Otherwise? Get lost.

apparently brickseek has committed seppuku, because I had to create an account and enter my zip in my profile, and then it only shows the nearest two stores. AND if I want more results, I have to pay for this 100% worse version of brickseek which was already unreliable to begin with? Yeah, no.

It still doesn't work when you have the subscription. I canceled mine last year. Walmart didn't work at all and everything else was accurate about 25%-50% of the time.

By now, most store websites have an inventory check system that is as accurate as Brickseek ever was, whch isn't saying much. But it seems the stores caught up with them, and now they are obsolete anyway.
So yeah, bye bye Brickseek.

Only got this far to say the same as everyone else. I've been "out of the game" for a while now, so I wasn't sure how recent the Brickseek changes were, but dang. If it worked consistently, I might have considered paying for it back in the day when I was reselling heavily. It was a cool tool that sometimes helped me make some awesome scores and at least usually saved me from driving 60 or 70 miles if I saw every store in the area listed at out of stock. But knowing how often it wasn't accurate, I just couldn't imagine paying for it -- and definitely not if it only shows the two closest stores! I live in rural America where my "two closest" for most stores is 60-70 miles in either direction, so I'd like to check both directions. And in at least one of those two directions, there are probably 4-5 stores within 30 miles of each other, so I'd hate to not see 3 of them. And that's to say nothing of having family in completely other parts of the country where I might send them to a store if it showed in stock, but apparently checking that is going to require changing my home zip code every time and that might get me banned? Uh, nevermind Brickseek. I totally would have been happy to share some financial support -- but this is not it.

Just wanted to drop in to point out that when these went on sale ages ago for $90 that I thought they were $40 toys.

To play in a fun way with a friend, you need $800 in Switches and $200 in cars... it just wasn't enough to be worth the effort (and apparently the signal doesn't travel far enough).

You can change it. Goto settings and you can put your zip code in. Just change to the zip you want to check. It's a pita tho

I know, I was aware. However as you alluded to it is not at all practical if what you want to do is change the zip code with each search you do. Back when Brickseek still had some degree of actual usefulness it used to take searching with multiple zip codes in order to adequately cover my area, and that was before it started showing only the 2 closest stores.
