Its read speed (4,800 MB/s) is a little less than the required 5,500 MB/s for PS5 but it will work - the PS5 will accept it and format it since it is PCIE Gen4x4. Thus far, no new PS5 game has required data transfer rates of 5500. You WILL need to add some sort of aftermarket heat sink. Those are pretty cheap - under $10.

If this is going in a pc, don't really need one. Most MBs have them built in.

Difference between this and the MP33 "Pro"? It's $79.99 for same 2 TB? Talk to me, Goose.

Nm. Gen 4 vs gen 3. N41

Someone on an Amazon review said the PS5 does not support it. Had pictures to back it up. Would love to know if anyone did get it to work. Could simply be a firmware fix?

So for $15 extra, this has almost double the lifespan and slightly faster speeds than Intel 670p which is $74. Keep in mind this is PCIE 4 and you need compatible hardware to take advantage of those speeds. I'm debating between the two while my laptop only has PCIE 3 because I'm thinking I'll be using it in my future PC too (few years down the line).

Does anyone have any input on my dilema? Lol

No Dram and some 2TB come with QLC variant and not TLC, So YMMV!!!

Just get 2TB Intel 670p ($73 @ Newegg) instead for more reliability (Dram and QLC).

If you think you will use it in a gen4 compatible system later, I'd say it's worth it. Just know in gaming, you'll probably never notice the difference. I have gen3 drives at 3500, and gen4 drives at 7300. I can't tell a difference gaming.

I have an MP34 that I couldn't get initialized with Linux. Once I did the job in windows it worked fine in my Linux system. Maybe the ps5 has similar issues with this one.

TBW is for warranty purposes and not a good indicator of actual lifespan. Most people will never get close to these numbers during the drive's useful lifespan, much less the warranty period. I'd take Intel over TeamGroup any day.
