I think the bigger issue is that MA gives you some reassurance that when the service you primarily use decides to stop hosting videos, there's a chance you can still access them elsewhere.

Lord of War was actually fairly good for an age of cage movie. Getting Ran for almost $3 is a steal considering the Criterion treatment. Picked up Patriot's Day as a third since I already had Hurt Locker and it was also excellent.

Be sure to check each movie to see where it can be redeemed. Some are only Vudu, and others are also Apple TV or possibly Google Play.

That makes zero sense. Just redeem the movies on your preferred platform. I will never understand people who complain about movies not being MA compatible. The only time it matters is when the sale is on a platform you don't like to use. Otherwise, do you really need to be able to watch the movie on every platform? You're that lazy to where you can't just switch over?

If you haven't seen it yet and have Netflix, check out the three-part documentary about the manhunt for the terrorist bros. When watching Patriot's Day I thought the big shootout sequence had been amped up for movie purposes, but it was actually a ridiculous bulletstorm firefight.

MA compatibility is useful because if you buy a title from a service that doesn't support or include extras (Amazon, M$, YouTube) you can watch on services that DO include the extras like iTunes (usually the most), Vudu (intermittent and incomplete) or Movies Anywhere itself (almost as good as iTunes).

I bought Mr. & Mrs. Smith Unrated Cut from Google (no extras) and was pleasantly surprised to find that on MA they had both the Unrated AND Theatrical cuts plus the complete suite of commentaries and featurettes that came with the original DVD releases which were unique to each release. Noice!

As usual, to benefit from iTunes requires either a computer or iDevice with iTunes or an Apple TV with iTunes. The Apple TV app which is available on all platforms to watch Apple TV+ does NOT provide access to the extras, only the main title. Weak.

Army Dog has some brutal depictions of war.

Probably the most accurate film ever on the subject.
