Garlic is toxic for dogs

Charlee Bear would argue that the amount of garlic included in these treats is harmless, but I cannot for the life of me believe that they really couldn't find a preservative that poses no threat.

Many years ago, garlic was not a part of the ingredients list and these were my treat of choice. Once garlic was introduced, I stopped purchasing.

I am not comfortable with the idea of regularly feeding my dog harmless doses of poison, however tasty and low-calorie they may be.

This is an awesome training treat. Low calorie so I don't cause upset stomachs when we do longer training sessions.
Remember, the meat color and shape and smell of any given dog treat is meant to appeal to us owners more than our dogs.

It seems that my dog has no interest in the item. Surprisingly, he doesn't even want to smell it. I purchased two of these items previously, and both of them are just sitting in the cupboard untouched. It's unfortunate that my dog doesn't seem to like it.

FWIW, I can offer this review:
While traveling with my dog, I had a small peanut butter jar filled with these. Walked in to a friend munching on them. He complained that while pretty good, they didn't taste at all like peanut butter.

Both my dogs love these. I just got a new puppy and these work great as a treat for house training.

I've always heard garlic is bad for dogs. My first dog was a Border Collie who I would mix in two tablespoons of Chicken with Garlic sauce from a local Chinese food spot. It was one of her favorite human foods. She developed Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency at 2yrs, got a hankering for people food, and lived a very long and full life of 20 years and one week.

They know. They still make a ton of money on the customers.

Did she experience any suffering from the pancreatic issue? Also, are you saying the garlic was responsible for it or not?
