I saw that this had an extra $14 coupon as well as 20% off of your "first" S&S, which brought my total price down to ~$38 . This is a good deal, especially considering the "MSRP" is now almost $70 a bag!

YMMV on the coupons. I order a bag of this monthly, so it is worth it to check , even if you clipped this coupon before.

Enjoy!

For everyone commenting on the "low" protein, veterinarians recommend that dogs eat food that is between 18-25% protein content, and up to 30% for growing puppies.
This is not protein powder for body builders where you are concerned that your money is paying for sugars and fillers. This is whole nutrition for a canine diet.
4.5 rating of DFA, reads like it's pretty healthy: https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/do...5-mix-dry/

General statement but is also depends on the dog. For example, toy breeds or small boned dogs that have "casual" lifestyle's have different dietary needs than larger, sporting, or working breeds. You have to pick the food that's best for your breed, the stage of life, activity level, etc. Just because someone pass on low protein food, it's not it's bad food, just not a fit for their dog.

My vet told me to provide a high protein diet to my older dog in order to keep his weight under control, essentially reducing the carbs. I aim for 28%.
A more straightforward and more cost-effective option would be not to overfeed Fido.

Use this for my now almost 6 year old doberman. After several types of food (protein and brands), the Whitefish is the ONLY food that gave my dog a solid bowel movement (twice a day). We dealt with mushy poops for the first 3 years of his life. This food was a lifesaver for us. We did the pro-plan, Merrick, taste of the wild, blue buff, every one of them was the same issue, loose stools. So from me, i recommend for a dog suffering loose stools (could be a protein allergy too, but we did the fish from other brands too).

How does this compare to Costco's Kirkland signature dog food ?

Ever tried living with a perpetually hungry dog?

Let me catch myself here... dogs are by nature perpetually hungry... but keeping a spoiled dog on a lean diet is more work than I'd be up for.
