Just FYI for others who watch that video, the carbon shaft model doesn't have a variable speed switch, but the trigger itself is variable speed. Just don't pin the trigger and you can get it spinning nice and slow for fences or whatever else you're working around. I'd personally save the 4lbs weight and get the carbon one. I have the carbon one, and after 15-20min of weedeating I get tired of holding it and start swapping hands, I feel like the extra 4lbs would make a massive difference (it's a 31% weight increase from the carbon to the aluminum) and make it an absolute pain to use. You can always use a strap to mitigate the weight with any of them, but that's just my personal opinion on them.
$230 shipping for me. That's ridiculous. Is it coming on a semi-truck by itself?

I just don't understand paying almost the same price for just the heads of these tools, when you can get a full tool for basically the same price even with the batter in many cases! The multi head I think is a bit heavier too.
In defense of my decision for buying the 1511T:
- I already have two 4 ah batteries and think I would prefer a 2.5ah battery for the string trimmer to save on weight and it sounds somewhat better ergonomically. I also did buy the strap.
- The 1511T has a rotating handle that apparently makes edging easier. You can add a handle on the 1523S too for $25.
- Telescoping, which I don't believe this one is
- I thought the aluminum is lighter but I could be wrong
- I prefer buying from Amazon
- The price was $15 cheaper (not a huge sway one way or the other)
This deal is getting a lot more love on SD than the other one though, so maybe I am wrong. I sometimes think people just prefer the "savings" they are getting by getting the 4 Ah battery cheaper than the 2.5 Ah one rather than focusing on actual practicality. Or I can just be way off on my research. I have never held either in my hand.I just don't understand paying almost the same price for just the heads of these tools, when you can get a full tool for basically the same price even with the batter in many cases! Same, I missed it when it went to $140 last year. It hasn't moved from $179
