Looks like notebookcheck shows the sodimm out of the system without showing where it came from. you are correct

Now would I buy it from China for $135 or from Amazon for $170?

It depends what you want to do with it. You could use the mini pc as a plex server for instance. I have no idea if this mini pc is up to transcoding but that would be a use-case for buying a mini pc over an apple tv. Kodi would be free and (in my opinion) it's much better than apple tv's mrmc.

If you're just streaming netflix, hulu, etc then apple tv, roku, or fire stick are just fine. Better in fact because you can do everything with the remote vs. mouse + keyboard.

I think the BeeLink S12 Mini with N95 and Windows 11 from Amazon might be a safer deal? it's $150 for the same specs but a more reputable company, in my experience anyways. Or does anyone have any info on comparing the two?

I'm still deciding on whether to pull the trigger or not

Slow, basic CPU (clearly, in a $135 system) that's fine for basic use, and likely would be fine for a basic, cheap Plex server (with PlexPass!) as long as subtitles converts and 7.1->5.1 audio work was not required.

When I hear "media center PC" I don't think "Plex Server" I think "PC attached to TV to do things", and (imho!) that use case, with the advent of [AppleTV (and Roku!) plus a Plex back end] is becoming less important. But I think this PC would be a fine Plex back end server.

The Ux with an AppleTV (or Roku!) vs. a full on PC isn't even close; I just don't like a PC in the living room. #couldbejustme

I am also curious about these small PC
can operate for 3-5 years, or if the transformer/power supply fails before that

After I checked
Compared to the cheapest i3 8100 series with direct windos11 support
N95 CPU class is about 80~85% i3 8100

The graphical aspect without data should be relatively weak
