Absolute beast for the price.
- High end chassis
- Ryzen 9 series cpu. Mix of power and efficiency.
- integrated graphics is capable of light gaming on its own. Good for playing on battery.
- 32gb of DDR5
- 2tb nvme
- 6850m is between 3070 and 3080ti from what I could see after a quick search. 12gb of vram is needed nowadays and is great for future proofing.
- I can't comment on performance, but this gpu gives you access to FSR and RSR. Both are same idea as nvidia's dlss.

$1574.00 after id.me discount.

CB is low right now…

Finally, a prebuilt Lenovo with the 500nit display! Unfortunately, it is considerably more expensive than the deal from a few days ago (I think it was a Legion 5 Pro).

I don't think Gen 7 even has a non-500 nit option. It's an all-around better chassis. Gen 8 has the latest hardware and a 240hz display option, but lots of downgrades to be more affordable.

This seems like an incredible price? Top of the line chassis from 2022 with beefy specs. Only thing I'm not familiar with is radeon GPU. If I didn't already buy L5Pro I would be all over this. This is Lenovo's highest tier chassis (7) with per key RGB backlight (their 5 chassis only has 4 zones). I believe it also has finger print reader which they removed in gen 8 (2023). Not as good as IR camera for windows hello, but better than nothing.

Unless it's been fixed recently, the Legion 7 was found to cap the 6850M at 140W TDP; the Alienware M17R5 6850M is able to draw 175W under full load.

What's the max memory for this laptop? Does it max out at 32GB? The Alienware one can be upgraded to that amount.

I just wish it had the same CPU. The 7745HX in the 5 pro is just so much faster than the 6900HX.

Yes but unless you buy the overpriced legion pro 7 series, the legion pro 5 series with 4060 and 4070 only have 300 nits and similar performance to the 3070/ti

$1700 seems a bit overpriced to me, but you're also paying a premium since it's Legion 7 vs. Legion 5. I got the Alienware M17R5 6900HX/6850M/32GB RAM with 1 TB and mechanical keyboard for roughly $1200 before taxes less than two weeks ago. I don't see a reason to pay $500 more for this laptop with similar specs. Like another poster said, current gen Ryzen processors are significantly faster than the 6900HX, so I'd only jump on this if the deal was more substantial.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, this model seems to run the 6850M at a lower wattage, which could lead to lower performance. There are several posts of people with this problem on Reddit just a few months ago.
