this is $25/TB compared to the 5TB at $99 or $20/TB. Does not seem to be worth it - unless someone finds the RGB cool!

With a Seagate, you'll very likely need the data-recovery service. LMAO

Let's not forget that the refurbished 2TB WDs go on sale from time to time for $30. Not to mention the 8TB Seagate that went on sale for $99. This is not a good deal

It all depends on what size storage you want/are comfortable with. Really you should buy two at the same time(one as a backup), so depends on what you want to spend.

Is that because you had to pay shipping?

That makes sense. They're probably part of the Department of Agriculture.

$50 is kinda expensive considering SSDs are getting dirt cheap and enclosures are less than $10.

Better quality and reliability.

In 2022, only one hard-drive model in Backblaze's fleet had zero failures: the 8TB Seagate.
