Now that this is the best price ever so far, can we reignite the debate of this versus Intel 2tb?

Which is better as second drive and launch games from it?

This MP34 is slightly overall better since it's TLC NAND compared to the Intel 670p which is QLC. I don't think you'll notice a difference unless you're staring at the numbers when transferring/writing/benchmarking.

For anybody thinking about returning a 670p to get this, I read some reviews and Reddit posts claiming that a new Realtek controller used in the MP34 is DRAM-less. One individual shows proof via a computer readout. Don't know if it's all or even a majority of the SSDs, but it might not be worth the headache to some to find out.

I was about to return my 670p for this until I researched and found this information.

You read my mind! Thank you so much for this info! Going to keep the 670p for $73.

Even so, the MP34 is still worth the $7 more since it's TLC NAND, which definitely runs faster and is more durable.

So for me personally, I am going to use this as a secondary storage drive in a laptop. Once the laptop exceeds it's useful life, I will take the drive and put it in an enclosure and use it as portable storage. This has always been my methodology with older computers.

The reason DRAM is important to me is because I have read that transfer speed on DRAM-less drive is very bad when they are put in enclosures, due to not being able to use the computers RAM as cache (HBM).

In addition, I try to avoid companies that have reputations for changing parts/using multiple parts in a product and not being transparent about it.

My current desktop has a SATA SSD as the main drive and it's been in use since 2017, when I built the desktop. It only has 57 TBW, which is more than the 4 TB HDD storage drive in my desktop. I'm not too worried about drive endurance.

The size/speed of the drive will probably render it obsolete before it fails.

Looks like they adjusted the price...shows $86.99 for the 2TB MP34 now.

If you got to the Amazon page, they are claiming that it does have dram I do not know, but that's what it says.
