Old lid leaks after awhile. I had the old lid and liked it but since the newer lid is leakproof I like it. Sometimes my bottle is sideways on flights and it would leak all over the plane with the old lid, but the new lid holds strong.

wondering this myself. I notice some of the "old lid" reviews says it leaks when it is on its side.
