I bought a certified refurbished 77'' A80K from Buydig but on eBay so I just wanted to share my experience.

My TV arrived a few days ago in pristine condition with no scratches, no dents, and no visible damages. It came with the original box with bubble wrap within another box. There was styrofoam and the tv was wrapped in a protection firm. The remote, cable, documentation, and backplate look brand new.
It also has only 31 hours up time total so not a lot. The model is A80CK though which was originally from Costco.

Overall everything looks good. The picture quality is very nice as expected since this is OLED. However, comparing this one to other FALD Sony TVs, I honestly do not see any huge differences.
Be careful - it says 31 hours but there is no telling if it was actually 31 hours or it was a replaced motherboard that was tested for that long. If the motherboard was refurbished and replaced you have no idea how many hours were truly on the panel.

I'm hoping Costco has a small deal/discount on the 77 inch model come Memorial Day weekend otherwise I'll be pulling the trigger regardless!

5% back from Chase portal and 90-day returns pushed me over the edge for this one.
What is this? Is there a max?

Would you guys take this or LG B2 65" Open-box Excellent at BestBuy for $927 (just 1 year warranty)?
I'd go with the LG. Cheaper, plus it's likely been looked over by BB at least.

No more OLEDs for me. They're nice, but eventually they'll start to die and you'll get dead pixels.

Sony refurbs are the shadiest of all factory refurbs. They have a history of sending out damaged items without actually fixing them.
You mean used tv's? Makes perfect sense to me. They're not refurbs and that word should be banned.

Did you keep it? Did it work eventually to any degree? The one they told you to dispose of?
No, the screen was shattered and tv was bent. I had to lug it to my local recycling center. It was a pain in the ass. Not worth the hassle and gamble.

Was able to pick up an open box 65" LG G2 from BB for 1285 shortly after. Open box is the way to go.

Something you can inspect in person will always outweigh a hope and a dream.

Beach Camera and Buydig are basically the same company.

Bought this deal from BuyDig last month. The A80k arrive bent and damaged but I got easily got afull refund. There was barely any foam protecting the TV so I wasn't surprised it was damaged in transit. Another shitty part was that they didn't want it back and told me to dispose of the TV.
Wow! Just say no to online tv's.

I don't recommend this tv, it will not screen mirror without Wi-Fi. I was very disappointed.

What people fail to understand is how different it is when an individual tv is shipped versus multiple tv's shipped safely on a pallet. A tv shipped to Best Buy is NOT the same as one shipped to a residential address. The second one will be thoroughly abused along the way. I worked in shipping/receiving for many years and have personally witnessed Fed Ex and UPS drivers who flat don't care about dropping your tv off the back of their truck!

Just ordered one as well, was a tough choice between the 65" C2 off Woot and the Sony, but this deal has the advantage with returns to Walmart. Also considered a G2 off Newegg but personally wasn't worth $400 + tax more to me.

What made me prefer the A10K over the C2 is better colors for movies, support for NextGen/ATSC 3.0 (which only comes on G2), and a personal preference for Android TV (so casting built in) vs webOS. Plus it's $200 cheaper with this deal and comes with a longer warranty (better than nothing).

LG C2/G2 reigns supreme with higher peak brightness and for gaming (slightly lower input lag, all HDMI inputs support 120Hz instead of just 1 on the Sony if you don't count the eARC output). However I only have one gaming console and usually only watch TV in the evening too, so higher brightness is overkill especially if it leads to earlier burn in.

Obviously a bit of a toss up with the refurbished state but that might not be bad if the TV was actually fixed up following any QC issues with a new TV. If there are 20-30 watch hours on it that's not going to make a big difference in overall lifespan.

My reasoning anyway - will share when I get the TV in a week or two. Worst case I'll return to Walmart and come back to SD for another deal.
Thanks for thinking out loud reasonably well for us to ponder. Such fresh air on a forum these days.

I'm not risking it for a refurb OLED. They already have fairly short lifespans
I have an E7 (Bought new from beach camera) and it is still as good as it was on day 1...
It has lasted the 7,8,9,X,1,2 series with 3 on the way so 6 years and counting.
OLEDs using LG panels (including some Sony) have been resilient for while now.
If anything my only gripe with them is a result of the measures the manufacturers take to protect the... The auto dimming in darker scenes.
