Sony refurbs are the shadiest of all factory refurbs. They have a history of sending out damaged items without actually fixing them.

For some context, I was able to get an excellent condition open-box 77" from BB for $1700. Better off checking open-box deals before going refurb route. Even better if you combine with Geek Squad protection.

I got this exact deal thru buydig a few weeks ago. Mine came just about perfect in sealed factory packaging, had a very small ding on the upper bezel. A few people in the comments weren't so lucky, receiving shattered TV's that were poorly packaged. Idk if that's a buydig or Sony issue tho.

Anyways, very happy with my purchase but there's risk apparently.

The ding could have been from first owner that then returned it. And the Sony checked it out and repacked as refurb.
