If you're into car detailing, you know these kits barely do anything. And they can even do more damage to the clear coat/paint if you don't know what you're doing.

At best, it's just wax that covers the scratches for a while. So you'll have to use it regularly.
I bought one before, it's usually $18

Does it work, or is the product bogus?

It works on really light scuffs. If you have scratch it's not going to work. I just got it yesterday and seems like scratch's on my car have gone lighter but they are still visible.

People buying this for real scratches, stop it. This is for people who maybe have a light "scuff" mark where maybe something bumped up against your car. If you can see discoloration on your car because a scratch THIS WILL NOT WORK.

Rubbing a tennis ball on a scratch will be just as or more effective than this kit. If you don't believe me look up videos.

It works for minor scratches on clear coats, not the ones deep into any color coat.

I didn't personally use this but I'm pretty sure it's user error if some people didn't remove any scratches. Based on reviews and an actual chart, Scratch x is supposed to be more abrasive than polish and not as much as compound for non pro consumers. This should be more than good, so newbies don't mess up their paint.

Most meguiars products are legit, although I use Koch chemie, rupes, and 3D One products, I don't think those are suitable for average folks without an actual polisher and could be too abrasive if they rub the wrong way with microfiber towels or pads.
