This was just $139 on Amazon a few days ago.

Never mind, that was the 980 Pro. Since this is the 990 Pro, I'm assuming it's a good price?

Seems like a good deal from a good merchant. Was $144 in April ( https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/815521 ), but that was particularly low.

Ridiculous price.
These were $245 a few months ago! The best Gen 4 drive. I would've jumped on this in a heartbeat if I didn't have my Sk Hynix P41 platinum.

Solidigm P44 Pro. Solidigm's parent company's drive SK Hynix P41 (the same drive as Solidigm P44 pro) won on real world tests vs. Samsung 990 pro.

Def not a deal unless you are a die hard Samsung fan. P44 pro or s850x has been cheaper than this and pretty much on par in terms of performance.

Keep in mind the best thing you can do is have good systemic cooling. This just helps moves the heat off certain aspects that can get hot on the SSD board itself but if your overall system cools well, it's kinda pointless IMHO
