Smoking deal.
Don't think you'd get a full wattage 3070 Ti with a great screen cheaper than this.

Sadly, it's not shippable.

Had this for a few weeks last year. Returned it since for the price back then, it wasn't worth it. Why? The screen wobble is ridiculous, like a bobble head toy. It's HEAVY, thicccc and stupidly sharp corners.

Yes the keyboard deck did get warm fast.

However, at this price, it's a finr value. Performance was very good. As a desktop with external everything, you can look past all of that. If you do external monitors, screen should be kept open for cooling the beast. Pity because the keyboard was excellent and the computer doesn't flex anywhere

Oh the charging brick rivals the biggest ones you've seen.

I'd go with the PC unless you absolutely need a laptop. Better cooling/performance/upgradability.

To be honest, I would pay extra for 40 Series only because of DLSS 3.

Otherwise this is a solid deal.

Great deal. Full powered 3070ti should perform close to the 4070. I don't really see any reason to get the 2023 stripped down legion over this anymore. The legion with the 4070 is like $600 more

This laptop line comes fully equipped with full screen wobble and sharp edges! Have fun with those hinges ☠️
They need to refresh the chassis. Complete garbage

Anyone have any personal experience in terms of keyboard temps?
All laptops will heat up, but in doing research this model has better thermals. I own one and love it. Yes the keyboard will heat up but not too bad when you game. I dont get why people complain about the wobbling, are they gaming on their bed, pressing on the WASD keys too hard? Yes it wobbles, just open the screen gently. Otherwise it wont wobble. For this price and performance, and nice thermals, I mean its for less than 1200 from 3 months ago. What I really like is simply watching Netflix, can't hear the fan at all unlike other laptops. Yes power brick is huge. Idk whats heavy honestly, its 17.3" with a nice heavy duty vid card. Time to lift some weights.

C'mon, the wobble is insane on this. I'm not picky at all with wobble, but this was comically wobbly. Nevertheless, at this price, who cares!

Me too, but returned mine because it didn't seem like a 2k laptop. At least you got a a year use and such is tech, especially anything with a CPU. However , deals on laptops have been best in years so any model from last year took a beating

Are you sure about 165W TDP ?

Notebookcheck check shows 135W TDP and performance is average for 3070Ti. Timy spy shows 10700 points . For Legion 5 Pro, the same graphic benchmark shows around 12000 with full 150 W TDP. Link is below :

Bought this 2 months ago for $1200.
So far so good. Planning to use this for Street Fighter 6 on 4k Ultra settings on my OLED.
I have the laptop cooler underneath this for gaming.
Power brick is yugeeeeee
It has 2 nvme slot.
Ram upgradeable to 64gb.
I just wish the brightness is more than 300 nits.

Does anyone have experience with microcenter price guarantee? I'm within their stated 30 days (bought at $1100) but I'm like an hour away from the store. Would hate to drive out to be denied.

Since folks want to know about the machine itself... My workflow has been to have it hooked up to the TV for most gaming and go on battery power for office tasks/Teams meetings/etc. Specifically, I've played Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy at 1440p high-max settings and Stray and Subnautica at 4k max. Thermals have far exceeded my expectations. Running at constant 100% GPU, temperature never goes above 155F with fans on Auto on the performance profile. 165F for the CPU, but I haven't come close to 100% usage on that. I do have it on a glass table which probably helps a fair bit.

Compared to the TV (a calibrated OLED), the laptop screen is definitely washed out. My eyes definitely get used to it after a while. Brightness wise, I haven't used with sunlight directly on the screen, but outside around noon, the brightness was more than adequate. I suspect the same wouldn't be true in direct sunlight though.

Battery life is good enough for my office workflow. In the 4-5 hour range with all the power saver options enabled. Fortunately, it can be charged via USB-C if you don't want to lug the behemoth of a stock charger around (seriously, it's comically large for a laptop).

The build quality is definitely poor, but that doesn't bother me very much. I'd go gentle on the hinge if you want it to last. Other complaints include no num pad and no overclocking options as far as I can tell.

All in all, for a 17" with a full power 3070ti, you're going to make compromises at $1k. For me, it's certainly worth it (even if I can't get $100 refunded, it's still worth it!)

I believe 3070ti maxes out at 150w.
