good luck reselling it in a few years
Resell it? I drive them till the wheels fall off. This PC will probably end up a media server in 5-7 years. I don't waste money building a PC and I get maximum use out of it.

i have no issues with recert hard drives i run over 3 PiB in my house and just bought a huge lot of recerts with a 2 year warranty

sure that makes sense, buying refurbished with warranty from manufacturer

i was referring to buying a used hard drive off ebay or someone random like you suggested with reselling

everyone should be buying PCIE 4.0 at this point in time since PCIE 5.0 exists
Horrible advice. There's are loads of reasons why people should still be buying these. Just because a new spec is out, doesn't mean anything at all in terms of what you SHOULD be buying.

Buy what you need, buy what your machine is capable of. There are TONS of PCs that are only capable of Gen 3 still. It would literally be a complete waste for someone to buy a Gen 4 drive for their machine, if it isn't capable of using it.

Not to mention, for the vast amount of users, they won't notice a difference in daily usage.

This isn't good advice. 95% of users won't notice any difference between a PCIe 3 and PCIe 4 drive. Reviews and benchmarks mention this all the time. Reviews for PCIe 5 drives have been talking about this issue a lot.
