- These are curved whereas my old ones are not. This is personal preference and I could take it or leave it.
- I intentionally went with 32" QHD panels because the size and resolution is great for my setup (on a desk that's 3 foot deep). At this size, QHD is the sweet spot for me but some people still prefer 4k panels. 1080p would not be enough, even at 27 inch it would be quite pixelated.
- My old panels are 75hz and these are 165. The difference is noticeable and appreciated. There are other panels getting 300+ hz but they're pricey at higher resolutions and I don't think I'd get the same benefit as the jump to this already high refresh rate panel. FYI to get the full 165hz you need to use the DisplayPort because I believe the HDMI connection would cap out at 144hz.
- The monitors have a variety of settings but some conflict with each other. The screen is bright and claims HDR400 but that I don't use it because HDR can't be activated at higher refresh rates. Enabling VRB also means no HDR. I'm not used to HDR so I haven't missed it and the VA panel procuces pretty good colors already.
- As another user mentioned this panel is VA. That's important to note for anybody wanting these for their speedy gaming performance. If you're a power user you'll notice some ghosting/smearing compared to an IPS. It's not unbearable as VA panels have advanced quite a bit but a system dedicated to gaming could benefit from IPS (or TN or OLED).
- The VA does have better black levels than my previous panels. That can be attributed to the VA technology or maybe just because they're newer and everything has improved. The only way to get better would be to have a full-array dynamic LED backlight or to go OLED but these are pretty good.
Ultimately, these are good if the size/resolution is what you need. These have some good functionality with some compromises so it always comes down to price for performance. I got a good deal so I'm happy with them but I'd be rather unhappy if I had paid full retail because better monitors are available if money is no object. There's no perfect monitor for everybody so enjoy what you've got and know that you'll be upgrading again at some point years later even if you take out an extra mortgage for the latest and greatest.
