If I notice that the bike company is making false claims about the components on the bike, I will do my best to correct the misinformation. Why is that a problem?
The crank and front derailleur are Tourney, not Altus, and the chain is KMC.

It looks like it has a freewheel instead of a cassette. A freewheel hub has the bearings much further inboard making them and the axle more subject to damage if riding off-road.
Bikes these days are super easy to "put together". Really all you're doing is putting the handlebar, front wheel and pedals on. Growing up, "putting a bike together" was literally individual parts that would take hours.

Thanks OP I purchased this couple of weeks ago for $399 in store, will be reaching out to Costco chat for a price adjustment . I read somewhere it's basically a Giant bike.

Pretty solid construction, been riding it for 3 weeks and I like it so far.

Is it in a box at the store? meaning you have to put it together yourself?

Got this for my daughter last year. We're not crazy with bikes but occasional offroading etc. Easy to put together, seems like a very good bike for the price.

Wound up getting one or 2 PA's (or buy/return) last summer pretty sure I wound up paying like $150 for this eventually.

I like the GT aggressor at 299 better. Various Sizes, frame, and components better imho.

It comes mostly assembled. Install the wheels and handlebar, make some adjustments and you're ready to roll.

Costco has the no hassle return policy as the main buy appeal.

Watch the first minute of this video (including the unboxing because it better shows box size) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMEanbHfEuE

I imagine it would FIT inside a KIA FIT. It's in the name anyways..

Honda FIT. Yeah, there isn't a lot I haven't been able to put inside my FIT. I just didn't know if this would be too wide to fit through the hatch. Looks like it will fit after all. Thanks for the video!

I've inspected both bikes in person. I understand the Costco appeal but you can't ride the return policy; only the bike.
