Yep, I remember when Dell included monitors with all of their desktops. Those were the days...

It's not a gaming system for sure missing a dedicated video card but it's the best price for 13th Gen I7 w/ 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM I could find - and I've been looking for a while. So as a general powerful workstation it's the best - no need for getting all the heat, noise, and power draw of a dedicated video card.
Also, it's great it comes with 1 x 16GB memory stick so you could get a 2nd stick to 32GB RAM without a need to replace both like you had to if it came with 2 x 8GB like many others out there.

For a typical user, this is a massively overpriced web browser. Go buy one of those $200 mini PCs instead.

No one really asked for this unsolicited opinion, did they? Regardless, curious what your definition of a "typical user" is and whether it's based on any actual data or just something you made up in your head?

It's a medium box - 14.7L chassis. Has a space for
- One extra 3.5 " HDD
- One PCIe x16 full-height expansion card slot, Gen3
- One PCIe x1 full-height slot, Gen3.
etc.

It's worse than you think.

I was looking at this, ended up getting the 13400 with super 1660. much more balanced system for me to do work and play fortnite. What put me off this i7 machine, was the power supply. No juice to add a real card.

This deal is for folks like me that do not plan to add a video card (others could still do it by swapping out PSU). I used to have one with a card, and it was heating up my office like a space heater - I don't need that. Feature proofing calls for i7 while comparing 13400 vs 13700 - multicore performance 50-80% advantage in benchmarks.

Thumbed up the deal. I agree with the OP's train of thought.

Because a $49 19" generic flat screen that will end up in your attic is what most people care about in 2023.
