Right now Market Basket has in store select Choice Gift Cards for 15% off. These are the cards that you have to go online and redeem for one or more of the stores on the card. The cards are $25 - $500 each. Stores include Lowes, Petco, GameStop etc. Sale ends 6/3/2023
Right now 15% off for a Lowes Gift Card is about as good as I can find. Also, you can have up tp $500 per card which is good for large purchases.

Anyone know Market Basket limits as to maximum dollar amount for gift card purchases? Need to buy a ton of stuff at Lowes for home renovation
Ask the cashier before you start the buying. I don't think there's a limit but if you go over $1,000 on a transaction the cashier needs to call for approval. Just buy them in separate transactions if you want to avoid it.
I went to buy $500 on a single card and it was not smooth. It took ~25 minutes and I ended up at the Customer Service counter. The staff was very helpful trying to resolve the issue.
In the end, I'm not sure what went wrong, but we swapped out the gift cards a few times before I was successful in getting two at $250 each. It seems the checkout people can't put more than $249 on a single card without management override. The manager overrode it, but we still had issues.
I was initially told it was due to my credit card declining the charge, but I knew that wasn't right and I called Amex to confirm. I really wanted that extra 6%.
It's possible that the original gift card was blacklisted due to multiple attempts, but if I were to do it again, I'd get multiple at $249 each instead of getting one for $500.
I've gotten four $100 cards at the checkout during the Thanksgiving Day sales in the past, so I don't think it's an issue with the total amount.
This will be in Sunday's ad (5/28), so get your cards before the masses arrive.

Sounds like you had some fun. In my case I bought three $250 on one transaction. it just needed a head cashier override. The second time I bought one $200 and one $100, again it needed a cashier override
