People make such an issue about DRAM vs DRAM-less... i use whatever cheap ssd for my old laptops to speed up C:\ drive for Windows and never noticed major slow-downs for everyday use.
Please educate.

That means you don't transfer stuff out of your NVME.

I normally have a SSD for OS drive and a second drive for holding data. I never noticed huge slow downs until two days ago where i was unzipping 250Gb file... was running over 400mb/s.....and few minutes later was running at 30mb/s until the processed finished.First time noticing this.... since it was transfering slower than a modern HDD, it was aanoying as sh*t.... of course this happened since i commented on SD ..... i leraned my lesson!
I was writing into the nvme. I normally do not write files out of nvme.

it's not just for everyday use but for longevity as well. DRAM increases the lifespan of the device since it wears less when doing reads and rights. DRAM basically never wears away.
but you're right, 80% of these drives, and even the older sata ssd's, would be sufficient for the average user without them being able to tell the difference.
if you don't need the speed, it isn't for you
