... but it is very useful if you have a garden that deer, rabbits, or other varmints like to nibble on. Shave it (with a cheese slicer) on and around the plants. The critters apparently don't want to smell like grandma either and stay away.
Regularly goes on sale for $8.99/20ct at Costco. I bought it once… never again. I smelled like my grandma. Took almost 6 months to finish it. I smelled like my grandma for 6 months. It was horrible.

Used to use Irish Spring Charcoal but haven't been able to find any since around the pandemic.
Prices jumped up last few years too. Retail price used to be about 50 cents a bar.
Those reasons got me being a bar soap free agent right now. Haven't found something I like yet. If anyone got any recommendations lmk!

3 varieties of the new Suave bar soap and they're all better than the new and "improved" Irish Spring with flaxseed oil. $5 for 8 bars

i saw this, is it bugs only or rats too?
doesn't work, the only thing that keeps animals away is blended eggs, no shells, mixed with water in a spray bottle left outdoors. becomes sulphuric smelling, nothing will touch your plants, we own a farm

You're probably thinking of the original scent. The packaging is very similar, but this is aloe mist which is a much less intense scent.
If you were so dissatisfied you should have taken it back to Costco.

Nah, they changed the scent formulas last year. It was all done at the same time they changed the packaging/look. I wouldn't touch the new stuff. I ordered from Amazon in hopes of getting the old version like the picture they have. If they send new stuff I'll just return it as it doesn't match their listing. As far as I'm concerned the Irish spring bar soap is dead to me.

oh, how often do you have to do that? My house lot is tiny so will it smell a lot?
This is a better deal than the current 20-pack pricing at Sam's Club, even with the Sam's pack being 4oz bars.
12 x 3.75 = 44.4oz, ~12.8 cents per ounce
20 x 4 = 80oz, ~14.4 cents per ounce
Thanks OP, and shame on Sam's for the greedflation pricing. That pack was $9 not long ago.

No way in hell this pack retails for more per bar than Dove.
Dove 8-packs are currently $10.97, and 12-packs $14.97, at my local Walmarts. So... yeah, no, it totally doesn't. Even the potentially-fugazi list price is lower.
