I was waiting for this one to go on sale since last fall, but now they have a 26 inch model with carbon fiber rail that costs the same. The newer 26 inch has been redesigned to make the 5 position 180 degree rotating handle more ergonomic, comes with a lifetime warranty on the rail, weighs approximately 1.5 lbs less, has more Speed 3400 Vs 3200, both have the dual action steel blades, but the 26" cut is 1.2" Vs 1.25". Unless I am missing something I can't see any reason to go with the older model

HT2600 looks like the way to go. I'm waiting on a deal which includes a battery.

Is it possible the 2600 is NOT brushless? The other model mentioned in the deal clearly is labeled brushless but I don't see that on the 2600.

The 2600 is brushless according to Egos website: https://egopowerplus.com/26-inch-...er-ht2601/

I suspect it is since the run time is the same and it actually is 200rpm faster than HT2500, I wish someone has a comparison video but couldn't find anything on youtube. Their price is pretty much the same now...
I wonder how much is HT2500 and HT2600 weight.

Last week I bought the HT2601 which includes the 2.5 battery with a 10% coupon from ACME. Regular price is $249. I have been eyeing this one for a while and this was the best deal I have seen so far.

How did you manage the 10% coupon?

I bought the HT2410 from Amazon in July 2022 for $87.20.

Aside from the rotating handle, is this a higher performing tool?

Edit: Looks like this offers 1.25" cut capacity versus 1" on the older unit. Handle rotates. 25" blade instead of 24".

This seems like the best answer. The 2600 seems like a much better tool.. and one thing I'd imagine most of us could use is another battery. Not sure what regular price is.. but 2600 combo with 2.5A battery for $199 would be a buy for me. You figure the bare tool is $179.. the combo cant be much more.

Seems like the HT2600 is mostly plastic construction where the HT2500 is mostly metal, I would suspect the HT2600 would be lighter where HT2500 would be more durable, but without comparison it's hard to tell. With same price for both model I think it comes down to preference on light weight or durability.

Obviously if there is a deal on HT2600 it will be a no brainer...

The real slick deal is convincing people that have one bush right up against their house that needs trimming that they would save far more money buying a $50 - $60 plug-in model... or better yet, borrowing their neighbor's trimmer a couple of times a year for free...

I agree that a plug-in or manual trimmers should be considered, but nobody likes that douchebag neighbor that routinely borrows tools. Waterline busts and you need a drain spade unexpectedly? Sure, I got you. You come to borrow a hedge trimmer for your hedges a fifth time? Get lost.
