It's been this price since late last month. Pretty sure this is the lowest they'll go for brand new until they clear inventory. Ordered a pair for my Dad. He loved the finish. No issues with shipping.

I figured I'd post it since I didn't see that anyone else had posted it at this price.
This model has a conventional, aluminum cone driver for the midrange and woofers and a folded motion (ribbon) tweeter. It is not an electrostatic speaker.
Electrostat headphones have great clarity/speed (archilles hill of electrostats is bass). I was interested in electrostats but they are just not practical (placement/maintenance) & not as dynamic for home theater in addition to music (you can't really fill in the treble/mids with the hybrid cone (which can have blending issues) or with a sub. It's a wall of sound but in the end, I prefer instruments like acoustic guitar sounding it's size instead of being exaggerated. I find ribbon tweeters & wide dispersion speakers that still retain great imaging to be a good alternative.
Wondering if to open them up what amp to use with such sensitivity and low ohms . would love to test em on my stratos oddyssey
I have the xt line (which is just cosmetically older). They are neutral to my ears (maybe a tad warmish) but react well to the equipment you pair them. I tried them with parasound and they sounded really good. Same goes with marantz. However, they sounded horrible with emotiva amp so definitely stay away with that combination.

The best deal I've seen on the Stats is from Underwood Hifi. I would reach out there.

I prefer my speakers without static.
(Someone had to go there…)
