Warning: If you're planning to use 4 sticks, you can't enable EXPO/XMP. DDR5 currently works best with just 2 sticks in dual channel.

Are you sure you have DDR5? DDR4 and DD5 have different sockets so make sure you can use it first. But if you are on DDR5, then yeah go for it. Faster and more memory will always help. Even if you just have discord or a browser running in the background, 16gb is starting to feel a little tight these days.

The biggest debate here was if I should buy 1 or 2 sets.

I bought one set but when I ran something like city sample for Unreal Engine it just wanted more. Their suggested 64GB minimum RAM is no joke but the graphics is so... unreal.

I currently have 2x8gb 4800, would this be worth the upgrade or is the difference negligible? Mostly gaming, any input would be much appreciated thanks.

One thing id be careful about its the RAM heatsinks as these are known to have faulty ones where the adhesive is lacking. 2 of my 4 stiks have the heatsinks seperating already. Just fyi

Make sure you check with your mobo QVL compatibility list and for your processor. Ddr5 can be a fickle mistress. Smaller kits like this and under 6000mhz are usually fine, but always double check the QVL or you might be stuck running at much lower speeds at best, or constant blue screens of death at worst.

DDR5 prices are dropping like a rock. Now I feel bad for spending $120+ on ram just a few months ago.

Yes I'm sure it is ddr5, I built when prices were just crazy so got the cheapest I could find. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the heads up about xmp. I didn't realize that.
I'm doing a build for a work machine, so won't be overclocking anything. Plus I did only buy one set. No impact for me, but it's good to know for the future.
