The eBay link allows renewals while the RP link requires new activation. So eBay for me!

But ebay list renewals for the normal price, not $160.

Looks like they changed the eBay prices since this morning +$9/$10. They were the same as the web prices, e.g., Last updated on May 25, 2023 09:39:30 PDT

*Prices are now:
$170/$209/$309 for the 5GB/10GB/25GB ebay plans!

Wow that was quick. GSMT is now $170 so the eBay $160 price was there less than a day. At least it's $170 for Renewals too. I'll wait a couple days to see if it goes back to $160 to buy for my family's second line.

On eBay the renewal price was and is the same as new activation. It used to be same as website price but it is higher now. I was waiting for eBay egift cards to arrive. Ended paying $209 instead of $199 for the 10GB/8GB plan. It is still better than the regular $240 price.

Thanks for this…brought to my attention that I've been overpaying as a respocket customer myself and their $15 plan provides more service than the $20 plan I've been paying for the last 6 months. Thanks redpocket! 🙄

Compare to AT&T prepaid annual plan for $300 and 16GB monthly data with rollover. Buy their gift cards on sale from Target or Kroger and avoid all taxes and fees.

What kind of tower priority do redpocket users get with GSMA service? Read elsewhere that ATT's unlimited postpaid has the highest priority on their towers. So when the towers get busy, such as during rush hour, ATT's customers get a better experience than uses on the same tower that bought from an MVNO such as Redpocket. Currently on TracFone's Verizon flavor of SIM and even with 4 or 5 bars of signal strength my data is throttled so heavily it's just painful. Will not be making that mistake again!

Red pocket is the worst cell provider I've ever dealt with.
There is a lot of stiff competition for that title. My vote is for Boost.

I have 3 lines on RP GSMA right now (1 annual 1GB plan and 2 5GB monthly - used to be 2 5GB annual). Despite me living in the middle of the city with 2+ bars I get delayed/missing texts frequently. Also, several times per week I'll have my wife tell me that my phone goes straight to voicemail while. Sometimes it will get better for a few weeks only to get worse again for several weeks.

I don't use my phone for business, so an occasional delayed text or dropped call isn't a big deal, but we're talking several times per week. My other kid has ATT prepaid and has zero problems so it's not the towers.

My guess is ATT deprioritizes RP or RP just doesn't have their ducks in a row on the tech side of things. The customer service side of things gets a thumbs-up. Their friendly, intelligible, reasonably empowered, and seem to genuinely care to solve your problem (even if they aren't always empowered to do so).

Even though I love a good deal I can't have a service that sporadically works 90% of the time.

Looks like RP finally need to reduce their price. I was RP user of 8gb ($240 annual plan) for a few years. I usually renew around black Friday for its sale price at aour. $200 for 8gb. Last black Friday, RP only reduce from $240 to $230.
Yep, I ditched them right after that "sale" that was incessantly shilled here on SD. Just call it what it is. I'm paying about the same on another MVNO and didn't have any real service issues with RP, but their marketing irritated me enough to port out on principle. It was also annoying to try and line up the timing on their ebay year of service plans. Done playing that game.

Is this better than Google fi for 20/mth ?
On Google fi, I was paying $20 base + $6 fees + $10/gig

Depending on how much data you need, you'll probably still save money

Can't wait for my 1 year period to be over so I can leave this company. Data so slow and technical support awful.
