$6 isn't enough. I'm going to swap over to pennzoil. They still have their $10 dollar rebate and the price at Walmart is cheaper than Mobil 1

Because many rebates don't end up getting claimed or used which means some people accidentally pay full price when they intended to get the rebate.

Sorry if common sense is hard for you to understand.

Yes, I worked in the auto industry for 20years.

Care to tell me what your qualifications are besides reading something on the internet.

You can cry all you want about CAFE . I can show you many cars going over 200k without any problems . How many cars in the 90s did that. They didn't have CAFE.

What's your explanation?
I don't see any arguments from you, just lies. This debate with you is over. Good bye.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cor...el_economy
The Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards are regulations in the United States, first enacted by the United States Congress in 1975, after the 1973–74 Arab Oil Embargo, to improve the average fuel economy of cars and light trucks (trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles) produced for sale in the United States.

Thanks for admitting you argument is trash. enacted by the United States Congress in 1975.

That proves Cafe isn't the problem of oil burning seeing it was enacted in 1975.

That was easy. LMAO

Walmart is never on the list but I've got at least 6 rebates since 2017. All purchased from Walmart. Not one got rejected.

I wonder if they will find some reason to reject a Costco submittal based on it being 6 quarts vs 5. Seems like they try to find many reasons to reject (I had to submit 3 times for Napa Mobil 1 rebatee).
Rebate requirements are pretty strict for the most part. Even if you did contact them and they said yes, there's a high chance you will have to go through a lot of hoops just to get their rebate company on the same page

Someone mentioned car dealers always overfill. Yea what the hell is wrong with the dealers? I have a brand new toyota camry with less than 1000 miles in my garage right now and it is overfilled by at least 1/2qt. I'm too lazy to get some out but I think I should.
Damn these ahole dealers.
Looked up specs for a 2023 Toyota Camry:

Oil capacity is
4.8 quarts with filter.

*I hate stealership shenanigans as much as anyone else and definitely do not practice myself, promote, or condone the following

I would guess the main reason for overfill is when refilling with new oil is laziness and/or saving time. So instead of adding 4 1/2 quart bottles and then pulling dipstick, wipe dipstick, check, reinsert dipstick, add more oil if needed, pull dipstick, wipe dipstick, check, reinsert dipstick, add more oil if needed, pull dipstick.. you get the picture- Tech just dumps all 5 quarts, oil cap, closes the hood, calls it a day.

or

the tech is misinterpreting 4.8Quarts +filter to mean "gotta add a little extra for the filter"

or

Tech says to themselves "eh, point 8, point 9, 5 whatever, who cares, it's close enough! not like MY car"

really could go on, but it can be any number of knucklehead reasons.

Where is "Walmart"? I saw Sam's. Also the rebate is only $6!!!!! Come on. I've been loyal to Mobil 1 for many years but I may have to go to Costco.
I left Mobil 1 years ago because of the price against Costco and have never looked back.

This is not my first brand new car that they overfilled. Here's the record:

1. Corolla 2017 - overfilled 4 times
2. Corolla Hybrid 2022 - overfilled 1 time
3. Camry 2023 - overfilled 1 time (so far....)

This is me, 1 person, they overfilled hundred of millions of cars.

Argh... shrinkflation at best. It was $12, $10 then now $6?

I had been using Mobil 1 oil for years. Recently switched to Penzoil and noticed that it's made from natural gas. I did some quick research online and people said there wouldn't be any difference. However, when I compare two bottles of same grade, the Penzoil one has slightly lighter color and seems to be more "liquid". Maybe it's my imagination but does anyone notice the same?

My engine runs great on both using Fram ultra synthetic oil filter at every 10K.

They fill it automatically. Can you imagine how many people would complain if they gave you a little less than full?

What is the difference between 100% synthetic and fully synthetic oil?
The difference between the two terms is that "100% Synthetic" refers to an oil that is made solely from synthetic base oils and chemical additives, while "Full Synthetic" may contain a blend of synthetic and conventional/mineral oils.

Bummer. Walmart increased their prices for the 5qt jug to $26+... It used to be $22 ... Been stocking up every year with this deal - although it used to be $12 rebate for each jug of the high mileage stuff... I guess the Oil tycoons need to build bigger yachts as those record revenue profits just aren't enough... Peace

Interesting, rebate is $6 now instead of $10, unless you buy the more expensive extended stuff?
That is what is contained within the description, if you read it.
